After Chuck beats Stan to the shady parking spot at Church (again), Stan declares that he wants Chuck to be his new one free kill. He also says that Francine's one free kill can still be George Clooney. Francine promptly yells out that Clooney is much too smug and should "stop playing basketball and get married like the rest of us". (All of this hatred is explained towards the end of the second season; George stole Francine's line in a program and kept her from becoming a star.)

After Francine makes her potato salad for the Deacon's wake, Klaus convinces Roger to eat all of it (citing the fact that he is German as his motivation). In a desperate attempt to make more to avoid Francine's wrath, Roger discovers there is no more mayonnaise in the house. Meanwhile, Roger has been going through his reproductive cycle, which causes him to lactate.

He then uses his milk as a substitute for the mayonnaise (which actually makes it taste better than heavenly, according to the praises of the people at the wake).

Betsy has been placed on a strict diet by her coach while she is in training for the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team; she can only have what he approves. When the coach sees Becky drinking a glass of water that has a lemon wedge on the rim, he slaps it out of her hand, yells at her, and rubs a lemon half and its juices into her eyes.

The praises Roger's potato salad receives leads Francine to believe it is not hers. When the Smiths question Roger about it after returning home, he reveals the secret ingredient by having Francine pull his finger, which causes his milk to squirt all over the room. Even after Roger says, "Mystery solved," Stan still says he doesn't get it and asks what the secret ingredient is (as his whole family is gagging).

To help him win the election for Deacon and finally beat Chuck White at something, Stan brings in Karl Rove to help with his campaign. Stan opens his front door to welcome Karl into his home, and Karl is standing on the doorstep looking exactly like Emperor Palpatine (except wearing a red robe, to avoid copyright issues).

In addition, the room gets cold when Karl approaches, and the water (and Klaus along with it) freezes as Karl passes the bowl.

After realizing how much everyone loved the potato salad with Roger's milk in it, Karl says that if the masses are constantly fed the potato salad, they will vote for Stan for Deacon, since he is the supplier. However, after the potato salad runs out at a public outing, Karl demands that they not run out again, lest Stan lose the election.

At that point, the bat with the tiny scroll in its mouth lands on Rove's shoulder. Rove takes the scroll, unfurls it, and remarks that his car has been towed.

To help keep a ready supply of potato salad, an incredibly bloated Roger is fastened into a crude device that milks him continuously. Francine is in charge of making the potato salad, but naturally becomes tired after a while. To keep her working efficiently for as long as possible, Stan tells Francine he has hired two sweatshop managers from Taiwan to help her manage her time.

The two women immediately yell at Francine and force her back into the kitchen.

Although he has become Deacon, Stan is depressed that Steve has now become pregnant; Steve gave Roger mouth to mouth resuscitation after Roger began choking, which caused his egg to transfer to Steve. (This is how Roger's alien species reproduces.) The depression leads Stan to the bar. As Stan reaches for money to pay for his drinks, the bartender says that deacons drink for free, and motions to a sign that says,

"Drinks for Free:
Deacons
Laurence Fishburne"

Francine then enters the bar, orders a drink, and explains to Stan that the bartender once confused her for Laurence Fishburne, and she just never corrected him.

Over the course of the episode, Steve and Betsy grow to like each other more and more. One night, Steve is at his bedroom window when Betsy climbs the tree (using her gymnastics moves) to see him. At the window, they share a passionate kiss, which causes the egg to transfer from Steve to Betsy, like it did from Roger to Steve in the first place.

Stan decides to resign the deaconship to keep the town from noticing that his son has become impregnated with an alien baby. Since he obviously can't use this as an excuse, Stan says he has been possessed by the Devil instead. To make it look convincing, he runs and crawls all over the church screaming.

In a scene reminiscent of "The Exorcist", Stan throws up after jumping on the table. (The vomit was a lime green color; it most likely could not be realistically colored due to the Network being sensitive towards such an issue.)
