Michael spends his last day having a moment with each person; he gives most people a small gift, some actual things (like Ryan, who gets his neon pub sign) and some just advice (like Erin, who gets love life advice). But she catches up with him at the airport and they share an emotional hug. He takes of his microphone and tells the cameraman to let him know 'if this thing ever airs'.

Deangelo's inner circle does not include any females, much to Angela's disgust. The inner circle consists of Darryl, Jim, Kevin and Gabe; although Jim is replaced temporarily by Andy after questioning the lack of females in the group.

Dwight is enjoying his new temporary power, but as is often the case, he takes things too far when he brings a loaded gun into the office and it goes off. The CEO, Jo, is very unimpressed and immediately makes Dwight step down.

Creed takes on the job with enthusiasm, but it becomes clear very quickly that he is not good at it. A search committee is set up, with Jim in charge.

Gabe is on the search committee with Jim. The episode contains some great cameo appearances of people who are interviewed for the job, including Ricky Gervais, Ray Romano, Catherine Tate and James Spader. The successful person is not announced, leaving viewers to wait until season 8 to see who takes on the job.
