Einosuke Okuda's daughter, Takiko, was sucked into the book and became the first priestess, the Prietess of Genbu. Einosuke read the book as his daughter went through it, and translated it as he read. Takiko manages to summon Genbu. Her second wish is to return home, but she never makes a third wish because Genbu was starting to devour her from the inside, causing her great pain. Einosuke kills his daughter to stop the pain and devouring, then kills himself.
Chen Entato is Hikitsu's real name, one of the Genbu Seven.
Chamka Tan is Tomite's real name, one of the Genbu Seven.
Lanva Hahmu is Tokaki's real name, one of the Byakko Seven.

Mitsukake can't heal the dead. If he could, he would have saved Shoka. True, he also doesn't have enough power, which is why he can't heal the dead, but no matter how hard he tried, he'd never be able to heal a dead person. It's just not possible. A person is ready to die when a person is ready to die.

Miboshi power is possesion and black magic. He doesn't need any fighting skills because of his black magic.
You see both Amiboshi and Suboshi fight in multiple episodes, and you see Soi fight Miaka. Soi had just crashed the Suzaku Seven's boat by causing a huge storm with her control over lightning.

Shin is the illusion clamshell Tomo uses. He traps Miaka in a couple illusions, including one in the OVA's. Scepter is the thing Miboshi holds; the source of his black magic. Ryuseisui is the weapon Suboshi uses to fight with.

Chichiri is able to do things like this: have his hands come out of nowhere and grab something. Miaka and friends do not yet know Chichiri when this happens. Chichiri gabbed Miaka to protect her, becasue assassins were after her. Instead, the men that were with them were killed in her place.
