"The Curse" episode is the first time the Gibbs Slap was seen by viewers. Most "NCIS" fans know that the Gibbs Slap originated when Michael Weatherly (DiNozzo) was goofing off during filming, and Mark Harmon (Gibbs) gave him a head slap.

Answer: A slap to the back of the head is a "wake up call."

Ducky noticed that Gibbs only slapped the back of the head. Gibbs said that a slap to the face would be "humiliating" and that a slap to the head was a "wake up call."
