Inspirational songs were the theme of "Idol Gives Back." This was quite fitting because these songs could have inspired people to vote and donate money to help impoverished people both in America and Africa.

Chris sang "Change the World," which was originally sung by Eric Clapton. The judges thought it was all right. Simon even said, "The competition starts properly tonight."
