This is the Christmas episode for the seventh season and contains a number of familiar Christmas scenes: contact with loved ones overseas, a rousing sermon, Santa Claus and giving to charity, and being together with family and friends. And it snows.

Coates does this while dressed as Santa Claus. In her defence Harm learns that she has an appalling home life with an abusive father. In fact he arranges for her to stay with Mac while she awaits her trial.

Turner's father is a retired Navy Chaplain who comes out of retirement one day a year, to preach on Christmas Eve. This year will be his 50th Christmas sermon. One of his previous Christmas sermons had been to the troops in Vietnam, one of whom was a young Admiral Chegwidden. The Chaplain does not disappoint this year.
