Rob Estes was Michael's best friend Sam in series one for one episode, but became a permanent 'Melrose Place' tenant - Kyle McBride in series five. Anthony Tyler Quinn was Detective Tim Truman at the beginning of series three, but later appeared in series six and seven as Rory Blake - a completely different character!
