Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Two races had recently declared a ceasefire so Doctor Bashir and Chief O'Brien assisted them with the destruction of their deadly weapons. However, the T'Lani and the Kelleruns wanted all knowledge of the weapons destroyed as well. This meant trouble for the two Starfleet officers. Which "DS9" episode was this?

Answer: Armageddon Game

Just as they were about to destroy the last weapon, soldiers stormed the facility to try and kill everyone in the room. Whilst O'Brien and Bashir managed to beam out just in the nick of time, the T'Lani and the Kelleruns presented evidence to Commander Sisko that they'd both died.
2. Quark, Nog, Jake and Commander Sisko went through the wormhole to do a planetary survey. The adults were captured but Jake and Nog made it back to the runabout. USS Odyssey arrived with the other runabouts to rescue them but it was destroyed whilst retreating by which race, which was also the name of the "DS9" episode?

Answer: The Jem'Hadar

Initially Jake was going to go for a much smaller school project, however he jumped at the chance when Commander Sisko suggested a planetary survey. Jake invited Nog and Quark invited himself shortly afterwards.

We also met the Vorta for the first time in this episode, however their role in the Dominion did not become clear until later on in "DS9's" run.
3. This "DS9" episode saw the first visit to the alternate universe when Kira and Bashir's runabout failed to drop out of warp properly. They found themselves on the station, which was being run by the Klingon-Cardassian alliance and had to find a way back to their own universe. Which episode was this?

Answer: Crossover

The original "Star Trek" episode "Mirror, Mirror" provided the basis for several episodes in "DS9" of which "Crossover" was the first.

In the mirror universe, whilst originally Terrans had a brutal empire, they had become a workforce for the Alliance.
4. Commander Sisko and Chief O'Brien beamed down to a planet where technology didn't work. The human community who lived there were the survivors of a crash, who had accepted the situation, however Sisko was placed in a punishment box when the Starfleet Officers were unable to accept their fate. Please identify the "DS9" episode".

Answer: Paradise

As it turned out, the crash was not an accident. One of the colony's leaders, Alixus, had long held the opinion that humans had lost something due to their reliance on technology. After the crash, she had installed a duanetic field that prevented technology from working. O'Brien managed to expose her motives, however the colonists decided to remain loyal to Alixus.
5. Kor, Kang and Koloth had located the Albino, who had killed Kang's son some years before. Dax's previous host, Curzon, was godfather to Kang's son and had agreed to join the Klingon trio in avenging his death. A duty that Jadzia felt obligated to continue. Which episode was this?

Answer: Blood Oath

The characters of Kor, Kang and Koloth had all appeared in the original "Star Trek" series in the 1960s and the same actors reprised their roles for this episode of "DS9".

Only Kor and Dax survived the encounter with the Albino on Secarus IV, although the character of Kang appeared in the "Voyager" episode "Flashback" when he encountered USS Excelsior under Captain Sulu's command.
6. Can you identify the "DS9" episode in which Garak collapsed after an implant he has been using failed. Doctor Bashir must then try and save Garak's life.

Answer: The Wire

Garak had activated his and left it running, something that it wasn't intended to do. Doctor Bashir managed to find Enabran Tain, the former head of the Obsidian Order, who provided a cure for Garak's condition.

However, this was only so he could continue to live a life of misery in exile.
7. Much of Deep Space Nine had been evacuated due to a plasma storm and an unjoined Trill boarded the station to steal the Dax symbiont from Jadzia. In which season 2 episode did this take place?

Answer: Invasive Procedures
