Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Dean and the demon were trapped in the basement in "Sin City" the demon stated that they would "have to wait and see who shows up first, ______."

Answer: the cavalry or the Indians

Dean wanted to kill the demon for killing Richie, but after spending time with the demon Casey, Dean found he kind of liked her. She previewed a storyline to come in the next season a bit by discussing Lucifer's fall from heaven with Dean. Sam ended up using the newly rebuilt Colt to kill both Casey and the demon possessing the Father's body.
2. After tossing a pen into the barrel of a gun and knocking out a gunman by hitting him with a TV remote, Dean declared, "I'm ______."

Answer: Batman

This was a classic scene from "Bad Day at Black Rock" when the brothers were dealing with a cursed rabbit's foot that first brought Sam good luck, then brought him bad luck, and in this scene brought Dean good luck. This was also the first episode where the brothers encountered Bela, who figured prominently in season 3.
3. In "Sin City" the demon Casey told Dean that a certain human had "a parking spot reserved for him downstairs". Which human was she talking about?

Answer: Dick Cheney

Dick Cheney was the human that the demon said was not yet one of theirs, but had a spot reserved for him downstairs. Trotter was the businessman in Elizabethtown that had started all the corrupting businesses after having a lunch discussion with Casey.
4. Fill in the quote by Dean: " Who was that ______? Actually, the more troubling question would be, how come a girl can fight better than you?"

Answer: masked chick

Dean said this to Sam at the end of "The Magnificent Seven" after an unknown woman came to Sam's aid when he was outnumbered three to one by demons. In the next episode, Sam found out that she was a demon named Ruby.
5. Vampire Dixon to Dean after Gordon killed his vampire "children": "I'm staring down eternity alone. Can you think of a worse Hell?" Dean's response: "Well, there's ______."

Answer: Hell

This was a scene from "Fresh Blood". In that episode, Gordon was on a self-appointed mission to kill Sam. Dean's response was funny, but also poignant, since he knew he would be going to Hell in about six months. The scene continued in its intensity, with the vampire telling Dean that he did not "care anymore" and it was "like being dead already". Dean's look was intense, and the sentiments became part of a confrontation later in the episode when Sam demanded that his brother stop being reckless.
6. Referring to Bela, Dean asked Sam if he could shoot her. Sam replied, "___ ___ ___."

Answer: Not in public

This exchange occurred in "Red Sky at Morning" after Bela had the Impala towed. The entire exchange between the thief and the hunters was funny. Realizing she was conning an old woman whose neice had been killed by something supernatural, Sam asked Bela, "How do you sleep at night?" She replied, "On silk sheets, rolling naked in money." After the "silk sheets" line, Bela said, "Really, Sam, I'd expect the attitude from him, but you?" He replied, "You shot me!"
7. Dean to Sam, "So, little girl, shiny red apple - I'm guessing that means something to you, ______?"

Answer: fairy tale boy

Dean said this during "Bedtime Stories". The spirit of an eight year old girl that had been poisoned by her stepmother was making people re-enact fairy tales, killing people. Sam was the one that figured out that the killings mirrored fairy tales.
8. In "Red Sky at Morning", Sam asked Dean if he had gotten the hand they needed to steal to put the vengeful ghost to rest. He said to Dean, "You got it, right? Tell me I didn't get groped all night by ______ for nothing."

Answer: Mrs. Haversham

Sam posed as Gert's date so the brothers and Bela could crash the party at the museum that housed the hand, the artifact they needed. To Sam's dismay, the senior citizen was attracted to him, and not shy about it. The reference to "Mrs. Haversham" was classic - she was the elderly character still wearing her wedding dress that Pip encountered in Dickens' "Great Expectations".
9. The Trickster to Sam, after Sam begs him to bring Dean back in "Mystery Spot": "This all stopped being fun months ago. You're ___ ___ in a skirt, pal. I'm over it."

Answer: Travis Bickle

The Trickster killed Dean well over 100 times in this episode. He told Sam he was trying to teach him a lesson - that he could not save his brother. This was his response when he realized Sam would never stop trying to save his brother. The reference he makes to Travis Bickle is to the crazy character from the movie "Taxi Driver".
10. After Sam told Dean that he had "found no reason why anything supernatural would be going on" in Milan, Ohio, Dean replied, "You know, you'd think that a Stanford education and a high school ___ ___ rate of zero point zero would produce better results than that."

Answer: hook up

This exchange was from "Long Distance Call". The brothers were trying to find out why people were receiving calls from deceased people. Dean received calls that he thought were from John, too. They later learned it was a crocata luring people to their deaths.
11. After Sam told Dean that there were abductions in Seattle the previous Christmas, the Carrigans lived there then, and that it was vervain and mint in their home, Dean responded, "So what, Ozzie and Harriet are keeping a pagan God hidden underneath their ______?"

Answer: plastic covered couch

This was from "A Very Supernatural Christmas". It turned out the Carrigans were the pagan Gods that were killing people. The episode had a lot of humor, but also provided a glimpse into the brothers' childhoods, with flashbacks showing Dean taking care of his brother and a young Sam giving Dean the necklace that he was still wearing as an adult.
12. After hearing Ruby telling Sam that she could teach him to use his power to save his brother, Dean told her he was not going to let her do that. When Sam started to tell Dean to consider it, Dean responded, "Sam, don't. Come on, man, what are you, blind? Can't you see that this is a trick? She wants you to give in to this whole demonic psychic whatever . . . she probably wants you to become her little ______."

Answer: antichrist superstar

Dean said this during "No Rest for the Wicked". Shortly after this exchange, he and Ruby fought, and he was able to trap her and steal her knife. The brothers left her trapped in Bobby's basement when they left with Bobby to go after Lilith and try to save Dean. Of course, she got out and joined them just as they found Lilith.
13. Dean in "Jus in Bello": "Stop! Stop! Nobody kill _____."

Answer: any virgins

Dean said this after Ruby presented her plan to kill the demons that were surrounding the jail. In order to do so, she stated she would kill Nancy, who was a "person of virtue". Dean was stunned to find out his brother was actually considering it. Instead, they went with Dean's plan.
14. The demon inhabiting Tammi, speaking to Ruby and referring to Sam and Dean: "You really threw in your chips with ______ here?"

Answer: Abbott and Costello

During this scene from "Malleus Maleficarum" Ruby pretended to be on the demon's side to help the brothers. She was able to distract the demon long enough so that Dean was able to kill it. The encounter between the two demons revealed that Ruby had been human, but after going to Hell she lost her humanity and eventually became a demon. Later in the episode, Ruby told Dean that the same thing would happen to him.
15. During "No Rest for the Wicked" Dean told Sam, "We take this knife, and we go after Lilith our way, the way Dad taught us to. And if we go down, then we go down swinging. What do you think?" Sam replied, "I think you totally should have been jamming ______ ______ ______ ______ right there."

Answer: eye of the tiger

This was a very poignant scene between the brothers. Sam came back with the song reference to help both of them get through the moment. Dean then responded with, "I totally rehearsed that speech too."
