1. What was Mr. Furley holding in his hand in the opening scene?

Answer: Plunger

Furley was at Jack's Bistro to fix his toilet. He suggested to Jack that to make extra money he should put coin boxes on the locks so the customers would have to pay to use the restroom. Jack did not agree with Furley's idea.
2. The kitchen helper had quit at Jack's Bistro the night before. Who volunteered to take his place?

Answer: Mr. Furley

Mr. Furley said that he would do it for half of what the kitchen helper was making. Jack did not want Furley to help out but Furley grabbed Jack's hand and shook it, then said it was a deal.
