Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is Joe Schmo's real-life name?

Answer: Matt Kennedy Gould

Matt Kennedy Gould is 27 years old, lives at home with his parents, a law school dropout, and a pizza delivery guy. With all his winnings that he won from 'The Joe Schmo Show', however, I'm sure to think his personal status has more than likely took a turn for the better.
2. Where is Joe Schmo from?

Answer: Pittsburgh, PA

When Matt found out the truth about the show being a sham and was presented with the $100,000 check, he told them all to ask him where he was going, in which they all obliged, and Matt yelled with such joy and excitement in his voice, "Pittsburgh!" With this, Matt clearly portrayed his excitement about going home.
3. Lance Krall (a.k.a. Kip) is really gay?

Answer: No

When Matt found out that all the cast members were really actors, one of his first questions was of that to Kip asking if he was at least really gay? Lance Krall (Kip) responded with a simple "No."
4. Who did the actors and actresses pick as the winner of the show?

Answer: Hutch

Hutch was played by David Hornsby, and Matt tried to act real cool about him being chosen; however, moments afterward when Matt found out the truth about the show, he revealed just how shocked he really was and how he just couldn't believe that The Hutch had actually been the one chosen as the winner.
5. Who did Joe say he would have ultimately chosen to marry?

Answer: Dr. Pat

Matt revealed during his final interview with Ralph that, even though Molly was the one whom he was infatuated with, it would actually be Dr. Pat that he would have chosen to settle down with and marry.
6. What was Brian considered to be on the show?

Answer: The Buddy

Brian Keith Etheridge played himself as The Buddy and was also one of the writers on the show, Ralph Garman also played himself as The Host, Franklin Dennis Jones played Earl Bradford-The Veteran, and Lance Krall played Carlos 'Kip' Calderas-The Gay Guy.
7. What was the name given to the item that everyone brought from home to share with the group?

Answer: Creature Comfort

One of the best parts of the show, in my opinion anyhow, was when Kip went off on The Hutch for replacing his photos in his photo album (which was Kip's creature comfort item) with those of The Hutch's naked butt. I thought that scene was so funny, especially when Matt was giving The Hutch serious hard-core looks like what in the world was wrong with him and what could he have possibly been thinking, of which if I remember correctly he even asked The Hutch just that. Too, too funny!
8. During the eviction ceremonies, what did one need to be wearing in order to be protected from being voted off the show?

Answer: Immunity Robe

There were daily game challenges that the contestants competed in, in which the winner won the privilege of wearing the immunity robe (a.k.a. the 'Pimped Out Immunity Robe') of which then protected them from being voted off of 'Lap of Luxury' at the same day's "Riches to Rags Eviction Ceremony".
9. During one contest, what entree served to Joe did he refuse to eat?

Answer: Dog Feces

Matt drew the line with eating dog feces and told the fake executive he met with during this scene that there was nothing written in his contract with the show saying he would have to comply with such a thing. He then also told the exec that if he felt he had to hold him in contempt of his contract to then feel free to do so. Matt later made the statement that he was able to put some of his knowledge from law school to use during this scene. Of course, we all know it wasn't real dog feces anyhow, and later found out it was actually liverwurst that they made to appear as the doggie poo.
10. Lots of people love it, some even crave it, but Joe couldn't stand the taste or smell of it. What sweet food item was it?

Answer: Chocolate

How unusual, I think, for Matt not to like chocolate. I know there's probably lots of people who actually don't like it, but Matt Kennedy Gould was a first for me to hear of in all my thirty-something years. Everyone I know just loves it, and even some I know who can't live a day without it!
11. When a contestant was evicted at a ceremony, what was normally done with their plate?

Answer: Tossed into the fireplace and burned

The normal procedure for contestants voted off and evicted from the mansion was to toss their plates into the fireplace where they then shattered and burned. However, there were a few exceptions where, for one, Dr. Pat was allowed to keep her plate and take home with her, and the other was when Hutch was evicted because he had broken his contract by making repeated threats to Kip about throwing him in the pool, in which he himself out of acted anger took his own plate and threw against the wall to where it shattered into pieces.

However, the next day, The Hutch was brought back and the pieces to his plate had been glued back together.
12. Who was the first contestant to be voted off?

Answer: Gina

Gina made a big production out of her eviction and even resorted to calling the rest of the players as nothing more than mere cockroaches. There had been seven votes for Gina, one for Molly, and one for Matt. This was when Matt figured out that it had to have been Gina who voted for him to be evicted which made him quite upset since he believed from an earlier discussion with her that they would not vote each other off.
13. Fill in the missing words of the following saying the host would recite to an evicted contestant at the eviction ceremonies: "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...'evicted contestant's name'...you are ____ __ __."

Answer: dead to us

Ralph Garman (the host) would ask the evicted contestant to hand him their photographed plate and address the rest of the group. He would then ask them if they had any final statement they would like to say to the group, and then he would recite this saying before tossing their plate into the fire burning in the fireplace.
14. Who was Molly considered to be on the show?

Answer: The Virgin

Angela Dodson played Molly Crabtree-The Virgin, Kristen Wiig played Patricia 'Dr.Pat' Lane-The Quack, Melissa Yvonne Lewis played Ashleigh Rivera-The Rich Witch (Well, it's not actually rich witch but rich...well you know), and Nikki Davis played Gina Price-The Reality Expert.
15. In the end, did Joe get the $100,000 prize?

Answer: Yes

Matt Kennedy Gould, a.k.a. Joe Schmo, won everything in the end. He was so happy he was crying. He couldn't believe that everyone had went through so much trouble just for him. He had a really great attitude about the whole show actually being a sham with him being the only real thing there was about it. Everyone involved in the not-so-real reality show had all come to love Matt Kennedy Gould for the wonderful person he proved out to be, and I, too, think Matt is an extraordinary human being and deserved all the great things he got out of the show and more. On the other hand, I can't say I would have been as receptive of the deception as he was if I would have been in his shoes, but then again for $100,000...who knows?
Well, I hope you enjoyed the show as much as I, and had just as much fun with the quiz as well. Thanks for playing, and as I like to say quite often, T-T-F-N (ta, ta, for now)!
