Lewis Collins played William Bodie in 'The Professionals'. The character Bodie had a varied past - he had been in the Merchant Navy originally before becoming a mercenary. He then joined the armed services as a paratrooper. He finally joined the SAS before being recruited to CI5. Bodie had a tendency to use fists first, and talk later.

9. Did Raymond Doyle ever marry?

Answer: No

Doyle did almost get married in the epsiode 'Involvement' with Ann Holly. She had witnessed them shooting a suspect dead and Doyle comforted her, and they started to fall in love. Doyle also went as far as trying to leave CI5 to spend more time with Ann. Unfortunately, Ann found out that CI5 had been investigating her father, and had arrested him on drugs charges. This led to Ann breaking up with Doyle and walking off.

Ann Holly was played by Patricia Hodge, a famous actress, who has also been in 'The Lifes and Loves of the She-Devil', 'Rumpole of the Bailey' and 'Jemima Shore Investigates'.
10. In which episode was it feared that Bodie was 'cracking up'?

Answer: Wild Justice

In the episode 'Wild Justice', Bodie finds out that the last other remaining survivor of his special forces unit has been killed by a gang of bikers. This leads him to become obssessive in his desire to get revenge on the gang. His behaviour is so erratic that CI5's psychiatrist, Dr Kate Ross, wanted to declare him mentally unfit to carry on working in the unit. Bodie only came to his senses towards the end when Cowley threatened to shoot him if Bodie tried to kill the biker. Cowley also convinced Bodie to let the justice system take over rather than revenge.
