Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which guitar hero appears on the front cover of the game?

Answer: Slash

Slash, born Saul Hudson, is the lead guitarist of Velvet Revolver and is most famous for being the lead guitarist of Guns 'N' Roses and Slash's Snakepit. In the game he plays a '59 Gibson Les Paul with a natural wood tone, but he has also played a BC Rich Mockingbird and the doubleneck guitars Guild Crossroads Doubleneck and a Gibson EDS-1275.

The Les Paul he plays in the game is widely recognized as Slash's most famous guitar, and it is, to him, his "Holy Grail" guitar, and is locked in a vault when not in use.
2. Which of these characters is exclusive to the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii versions of the game?

Answer: Metalhead

Midori was the only new character introduced to the game that could be selected from the beginning, and is present on all the consoles. The Grim Ripper and The God of Rock are only available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, while Metalhead is available on the Wii and PS2, along with Elvis impersonator Elroy Budvis.
3. What wireless controller comes with the PS2 version of the game?

Answer: Kramer Striker

The Les Paul was released with the PS3, 360 and Wii versions of the game, the SG was released with the PS2 versions of the first and second games, while the X-Plorer was released with the 360 version of "Guitar Hero II". The Kramer is also the only wireless controller available.

The guitar colours vary, mainly being black or white, although the SG that is bundled with "Guitar Hero II" is cherry red. A cherry red SG is available for "Guitar Hero III" if it is bought in a non-wireless bundle pack.
4. The first boss, Tom Morello, is fought during the second concert the band performs, but where are you performing?

Answer: Mitch's Moose Lounge

The band ends up in Mitch's Moose Lounge after their first performance, where Mitch spots them and advertises them. The songs played there are "Mississippi Queen" by Mountain, "School's Out" by Alice Cooper, "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream and "Barracuda" by Heart, with "Bulls on Parade" by Rage Against the Machine being the encore, which is played with Tom Morello helping along.
5. Tom Morello has an interesting guitar that he customized himself using various parts, but is it true that he painted his own decals and motifs onto it?

Answer: Yes

He painted the words "Arm the Homeless" onto the guitar, something that he carries onto most of his guitars. Arm the Homeless is made up of a Strat-style body with a Kramer style Performance rosewood paneled neck, that's extra-wide for his usage. Even the hardware is modified, with unique wiring and at least two separate different pickups.
6. You can download the boss battle songs to play in Quickplay and other modes as well as career for certain console versions of the game.

Answer: True

They appear in a downloadable pack for the PS3 and 360, which contains, as you'd expect, the boss battle songs. However, there are other packs, such as the Foo Fighters pack, the Velvet Revolver pack and the Classic Rock pack.
7. The final boss battle song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", was played by who?

Answer: Steve Ouimette

Although the song was inspired by the Charlie Daniels Band version, the song in the game was rewritten in a metal format by Steve Ouimette. The song is played against Lou the Devil in the last level in Career mode as a guitar battle.
8. These songs all appear in the Co-op Career mode, but which one is the odd one out?

Answer: "The Metal"

All of the other songs appear in the 6th and final level of Co-op Career. "Number of the Beast" and "One" can be played from the off, but "Monsters" is the encore song, and the last song of co-op career, as there are no boss battles in Co-op Career.
9. You can get "Guitar Hero" on your mobile.

Answer: True

It was developed by MachineWorks Borthwest LLC. It features fifteen songs from "Guitar Hero II" and "Guitar Hero III", with downloadable expansion packs of three songs each available.
10. A question on the final song- "Through the Fire and Flames". When you try this song on Expert difficulty, what message shows up on the loading screen?

Answer: Good Luck

Completing the song on Expert earns you the Inhuman achievement on the 360. Herman Li was shown playing the song on Hard mode in a promotional video for the game, but failed after completing 2% of the song. Incidentally, after the inclusion of this song on the game, sales of the band's CDs increased by 126% in a week.
