Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Alright, first off, you get to choose your species/gender. When customizing your character, you'll see that certain species have only one playable gender. Which of the following is not a possible selection?

Answer: Zabrak Male

Your selections include Human Male, Human Female, Zabrak Female, Twi'Lek Female, Rodian Male, Kel Dor Male. The only difference is how you look, and what your character's voice is, whether it be feminine or masculine.
2. Next comes your appearance. You can mix and match different outfits for three different body locations. Which of the following cannot be selected independently?

Answer: Arms

When you create your character, you can select what kind of pants, shirt, and face/hair you want. Arms are tied in with the torso selections. You can also select your colour scheme from a variety of colours, some dull, others bright. However, make sure you like what your character looks like, because you wont get a chance to change it in the middle of the story.
3. Next comes your Lightsaber. What can you NOT customize when selecting your saber?

Answer: Style

When you first make a Lightsaber you can choose from a large selection of hilts and one of five colours: orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Red isn't available, because that's what the dark Jedi use, but you can select red for multiplayer games.

When you first start off in the game, you get one Lightsaber style, being medium. After you complete the story missions (the ones you cannot avoid), you'll get the option to add a new style, being either fast or strong.
4. How long can your name be when you create a new character in Jedi Academy?

Answer: You don't get to choose your name

You don't actually get to name yourself in Jedi Academy. You're character's name will always be Jadan Korr, regardless of species or gender. This way characters can actually interact with speech and use your character's name.
5. As you progress through the game, you'll find that each weapon has a secondary fire. When you hit the secondary fire button with your standard Lightsaber out, what will you do?

Answer: Throw out in front of you

When you have your Lightsaber equipped, and you use the secondary fire, you'll throw it out in front of you, spinning, if you're wielding a single or duel Lightsaber styles. As you get more points in that ability, it'll go out farther, for long, and spin faster. You can recall it when you let go of the secondary fire button, or until you run out of Force concentration. If you switch weapons when you have your Lightsaber spinning, it'll drop, and when you select your Lightsaber again, you'll have to wait until it reaches your hand, again, before you can use it. To deactivate your Lightsaber, just press the 1 key (or whichever key you have set to "Lightsaber"), and you will actually kick out in front of you, instead of throwing your saber, if you're wielding a staff.
6. How many Force points can you put into any given Force power?

Answer: Three

You can put up to three Force points into one Force power. If you have none in a Force power, then you just don't get to use it. One is weak, two is stronger, and three is strongest. You cannot add Force pints into neutral Force powers (Jump, Push, Pull, Sight, Speed, Lightsaber attack, Lightsaber defend, Lightsaber throw), in the single player game. Neutral Force powers will each receive a point when you complete story missions (the unavoidable ones), like Hoth and Vjun.

A common strategy is to max out one Force power in with the first three mission, like Lightning, Grip, or Heal, giving you an incredibly strong ability for the early game.
7. What kind of Force power is "Lightsaber Defend"?

Answer: Neutral

Defend is neutral, meaning both Sith and Jedi can use it, along with other basic Force powers. The more points you have in Defend, the better your chances are of deflecting laser bolts, particles and Lightsabers directed at your character.
8. How many different Force Powers are there in the single player game?

Answer: Sixteen

There are sixteen Force powers in the game, eight neutral, four light, and four dark. The light side Powers are quite difficult to use when facing most enemies. The light side has Heal, which uses up concentration and replenishes health. Absorb takes in Pulls and Pushes used against the user, and adds to the concentration. Mind trick only works on a few enemies (humanoids) and only for a short duration.

It allows you to sneak past guards that would otherwise trip an alarm, or allow you to get close enough to neutralize the silently. Protection takes physical damage and drains the Force meter instead of your health.

The dark side is a lot easier to use, and a lot more efficient. Drain has to be used at close range, but it's pretty basic. Kind of like Heal, but you accomplish two things: you heal yourself and you drain the life out of your enemy. Rage decreases the damage you take, but also speeds up your movements and makes your own attacks stronger, but it uses up concentration quickly. Grip is a fun power to use. You can hold onto an enemy until he's dead, or you can make it quick, and throw him into the air, and let him drop, or throw him into a wall, knocking him out. Lightning just sends out waves of electricity in front of you, zapping multiple enemies, and cannot be dodged by enemy Jedi (which can normally counter other Force powers used against them, like Push, Pull, and Grip).
9. When you start off a new mission, you get to choose your armaments. How many large weapons can you choose to take with you?

Answer: Two

Each time you start a mission, you start off with your Lightsaber, DL44, and then you get to choose two larger weapons. In your first tier of missions, you can select between the E-11 Blaster Rifle, the Disrupter Rifle, the Bowcaster, and the DEMP2 gun.

In the second tier, the Heavy Repeater and Flachette Weapon are added, and after that, the Concussion Rifle and Missile Launcher. You also get to choose one explosive. You can choose between Thermal Detonators, Trip Mines, and Detonation Packs. All explosives are open to you throughout the game.
10. Finally, if you tend to have more points in the Dark side powers than the light, will it affect the outcome of the story?

Answer: No

Kyle and Luke will occasionally confront you about your Force power selection, depending on which side it's leaning to. They'll caution you not to fall over to the dark side, or congratulate you on using the light side skills. It doesn't affect the story at all, though, and in the end, it's a different action that determines your ending, regardless of your Force selections, so don't worry about trying to impress Luke or Kyle and go with what you want.
