1. What year does the game take place?

Answer: 2014

It takes place "In the not too distant future" as it says in the beginning. "Metal Gear Solid 2" takes place in 2009, and "Metal Gear Solid 3" is in 1964.

2. What weapon do you start the game with?

Answer: Stun knife

The stun knife is the only weapon you have initially. You get the AK from a dead soldier's body just after you start. Otacon gives you the Operator, along with a tranquilizer gun. You get the M4 from Drebin.

3. What game was Johnny (Akiba) previously featured in?

Answer: Both of these

In "Metal Gear Solid 1", he is the guard that guards the cell you are in after being tortured. He doesn't make a physical appearance in "Metal Gear Solid 2", but using the directional microphone during certain cutscenes, you can hear him talking. His grandfather appears in "Metal Gear Solid 3".

4. Why does Snake have to go to South America in Act 2?

Answer: To rescue Naomi Hunter

Snake's goal is to assassinate Liquid in Act 1. He has to find the leader of a resistance in Act 3. Helping the rebels is a minor element of Act 2, but not the main idea.

5. Who saves Snake from the hoard of Gekko near the end of Act 2?

Answer: Raiden

He does escape, but only while Raiden is fighting the Gekko. Otacon comes in a helicopter to fly them away. Meryll does not make an appearance in Act 2.

6. In the beginning of Act 3, why does Snake appear to be young?

Answer: He is using facecamo

He never is cured of his age. The syringe doesn't reverse his age, it simply surpresses the nanomachines. The mask is an item in "Metal Gear Solid 3".

7. Who dies in Act 3?

Answer: Eva/Big Mama

Vamp does not die in this act, nor does Liquid. Meryll never dies in the game.

8. What previous location do you revisit in Act 4?

Answer: Shadow Moses Island

Tselinoyarsk is the name of the jungle Big Boss went to in "Metal Gear Solid 3". Big Shell is the fake oil cleanup facility Raiden infiltrated in "Metal Gear Solid 2". Outer Heaven was featured in the original "Metal Gear", on the MSX.

9. In the final boss battle, how many stages are there to the fight?

Answer: Four

The fourth stage is only for cinematic purposes and is impossible to lose, but you still control gameplay, so it is still a battle stage. All four stages remix music from their respective game number.

10. What is the name of the Debriefing and who makes a surprising return?

Answer: Naked Son/Big Boss

Big Boss was previously believed to have been dead. Both Eva and Solidus actually WERE dead, so they could not have made appearances.
