Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is the first person that you meet in this game?

Answer: Joanna Riggs

When you first enter the museum, Joanna is checking the lock on the Pacal carving. Pacal was king of the Mayans in the early 7th century. This game is filled to the brim with interesting information about the Mayan civilization.
2. What was the name of the intern that worked at the museum before Nancy?

Answer: Sonny Joon

He turns out to be very useful in the game because he left notes about the exhibits on how to do several of the chores. Henrik referred to him as "Hurricane Sonny".
3. From where in Mexico did the cookies on Taylor's desk come?

Answer: Oaxaca

Taylor offers them to you and at one point you do take one, but not to eat. You use it to replace one of the jade carvings necessary to open the monolith.
4. Who stole the Pacal carving?

Answer: Henrik

He stole it for its own protection. There had been a number of thefts of jade carvings similar to the Pacal carving recently, so he felt like he needed to protect it from other unscrupulous persons.
5. Henrik falls from the Temple replica and gets amnesia.

Answer: True

After hiding the Pacal carving, he falls from the temple. We have to go to the hospital to join Nurse Bluefoot in helping Henrik regain his memory.
6. Before working at Beech Hiil, Henrik worked at a museum in New Mexico called CCCC. What does "CCCC" stand for?

Answer: Chaco Canyon Cultural Center

There really is a Chaco Canyon Cultural Center here in New Mexico. I made up the other three. Translated from Spanish "Cuidad Cristo Cultural Center" is Christ City Cultural Center", and "Chango Canyon Cultural Center" is "Monkey Canyon Cultural Center."
7. What is the red substance on the handprint note made of?

Answer: Cinnabar

Cinnabar, as we learn from Joanna, was used by the Mayans to emphasize and protect their art. Too much Mercury exposure can have some bad physical effects. Mack from "Keep It Real Restoration", a company that does business with Beech Hill, says that the Mercury can "make ya crazy".
8. What artist not only has a painting in Prudence Rutherford's home, but also has one in Taylor Sinclair's office?

Answer: Poppy Dada

Poppy and Penelope are the same person. She tells us only her parents call her Penelope anymore. She placed the priceless jade carving on her painting "Deadly Midnight Snack" which is sitting in Taylor's office.
9. You need to get a Nahuatl word to contact the smugglers with the HAM radio. What is this word in English?

Answer: Snake

Alejandro speaks fluent Nahuatl, so you have to ask him for the word. Before he will tell us however, he wants you to give him the provenance papers for the Pacal carving so that he can check its history.
Milk in Spanish is Leche. It is the word that you give the smugglers so that they will send you another jade carving for the key to the monolith.
10. Who is the final culprit?

Answer: Taylor

After opening the monolith and finding the body of the Whisperer with a blank book, Taylor pushes you into the monolith and locks you in. Through a process of steps, you not only get out but find the real writings of the ancient scribe.
After you escape, Joanna, Alejandro, and Henrik greet you as you emerge from the stone prison victoriously.
