Nitty Gritty "Final Fantasy V" Trivia Quiz

As my version of this great RPG is sketchy... this quiz, and any others I make, will be based on the Jobs and abilities of "Final Fantasy V" for the SNES. Though, I do have some creative questions in mind... Enjoy!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cyan, who hails from "Final Fantasy 3 US", has a SwdTech ability called Cleave where every enemy on the screen is sliced in two. Which Job in "Final Fantasy V" has a similar ability?

Answer: Samurai

This is the last ability that is learned by a person using the Samurai shard, and it is well worth the wait! Of course it fails against bosses, but on random enemies it works wonders.
2. Which of the following things is true about the Mystic Knight Job?

Answer: Both of these statements are true

The "Magic Barrier" is a passive skill, while the sword enchantments are an active command skill. Sword spells are obtained once the corresponding White or Black spell is found. A Mystic Knight has access to all obtained sword spells, but to pass on these spells to other warriors, the Sword Magic Level X skills must be mastered.
3. The Knight class learns the most "equip X" skills.

Answer: True

Knights have the skill to equip heavy armor, shields, and swords. Most other classes only have one equip skill, assuming they have any skills in that area at all.
4. The aforementioned Cyan from "Final Fantasy 3 US" also has a skill called Empowerer, that drains some HP and MP from an enemy and transfers it to Cyan. Which Job offers a nearly identical skill?

Answer: Dragoon

The move costs a dragoon no MP to use, and whatever the abbreviation actually is, the move looks like "Dragon Sword". An in-game library book tidbit suggests that a Black Mage with this move could be very successful.
5. Which of the following is NOT a way to learn spells?

Answer: Gaining experience and/or ability points

Not in this game. An example - If you are using the Black Mage Job, you have access to any Black spell you have in your inventory. You must gain the "Black Magic Level X" skills in order to transfer spells to other classes.
6. Each Blue Mage must learn his/her own Blue spells in order to use them. (Ie - I must Learn Goblin Punch, and my teammate must also Learn it)

Answer: False

If one person Learns a Blue spell, then everybody with the Blue command can use it. This is not the same as a Blue Mage in "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance" or using the Enemy Skill Materia in "Final Fantasy VII", where each Mage or Materia must gain its own spells.
7. Which of the following statements about the Chemist Job is false?

Answer: The command ability you cannot choose (like Black Magic for a Black Mage) is Mix

A chemist would make a terrific character, except that their immovable command is Drink. Using the Mix command, you can turn store-bought items, and rarer ingredients found on monsters into powerful weapons.
8. Which is the most correct way to reconstruct Rosa from "Final Fantasy 2 US" using the Job system in "Final Fantasy V"?

Answer: No Job - Abilities = White Magic and Aim

Rosa is a White Wizard who is also an archer skilled enough to Aim her bow. But, she must also be able to hold both a Staff and a Bow. A "Final Fantasy V" White Mage can either hold a bow OR Aim, but not both, just as an Archer could either hold a Staff (a Time Mage ability) or use White Magic. With no job, characters can hold any weapon, and use two abilities.
9. Mog from "Final Fantasy 3 US" has a special skill called Dance that summons natural phenomena and animals from the terrain. Which Job in "Final Fantasy V" has an ability that offers similar results?

Answer: Both of these Jobs

Mog's Dances appear to combine the Archer's Animals skill and the Elementalists immovable skill Terrain. One major difference between the two is that Mog cannot stop Dancing until he stumbles, while Archers and Elementalists can use the command once each turn they take.
10. Which Job equips a whip?

Answer: Trainer

In this game, Callers use rods and staves while the Trainers use whips. As in "Final Fantasy IV" ("Final Fantasy 2 US") before it, whips can still paralyze enemies. The Trainer's Control ability is very useful in obtaining the Blue Mage spells.
