Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the maximum amount of pieces that the Assassin can damage with one attack?

Answer: Five

The Assassin can hit all units directly beside it in a plus pattern, but can also kill herself with her desperation attack. This can only be activated when your only Assassin has four, or less, health. If you have more than one Assassin, you cannot use the desperation attack.
2. The Assassin normally has an attack power of 18. Which other unit has the same attack power?

Answer: Scout

The Scout and the Assassin both have 18 attack power. The Beast Rider has 19, the Pyromancer has 15, and the Mud Golem has 20. Assassins can also raise their attack power to 99 by using the desperation attack.
3. The Lightning Ward has an attack power of 30. How much damage does it do to an Assassin when it strikes?

Answer: 26

The Assassin has armor equal to twelve percent of the damage done to her. This means that if an enemy attacks you with the power of 100, then it will only do 88 damage. Armor affects all attacks except the Desperation Attack, which will always do 99.
4. The Assassin is good for infiltrating defensive placements because of her high movement. How many squares maximum can she move in one turn?

Answer: Four

The Assassin can move up to four squares, but can be blocked by placing units in her path. Still, she can cause a lot of chaos if handled correctly.
5. An Assassin with full health can do damage to a Lightning Ward.

Answer: True

Even though you cannot use the Desperation attack when you have full health, you can still paralyze the Lightning Ward with an Enchantress or Frost Golem and hit it with regular attacks. This doesn't have many uses in most games, but can occasionally help finish off a wounded Lightning Ward that's harassing your men.
6. The Assassin has a very high blocking percentage from the front. Which piece has more blocking than her?

Answer: Knight

The Assassin has a 70% chance of blocking attacks from the front, which is the second best in the game. The only piece with higher blocking is the Knight, who has an 80% chance of blocking. The Scout has a 60% chance, the Dragon Tyrant has 40% and the Beast Rider has 45%.
7. Which of these attack combinations will allow the Assassin to use her desperation attack, assuming there is no healing and no blocking?

Answer: Assassin, Scout

You may use the Desperation attack only when you have four health, or less. The Assassin, Scout combo leaves you with 3, making it the only option to allow a Desperation attack. The Lightning Ward and Pyromancer Combo will kill your Assassin, the Scout and Pyromancer Combo is too weak. Using two Pyromancers will leave it with too much health to use the attack.
8. To use the Assassin's Desperation attack, what must you do after clicking on the assassin and hitting "attack"?

Answer: Click on the square the Assassin is standing on, and hold it in until the white square disappears

You must click on the Assassin and hold in the mouse button for about three or four seconds, then let go. There is no "Desperation Attack" button.
9. Which of these gold units is most similar to the Assassin in purpose and stats?

Answer: Beast Rider

The Assassin and the Beast Rider are similar units. Both can move four squares, have no movement recovery, and can hit multiple units with one attack. The Dragon Tyrant is incredibly powerful, but has high recovery. Pyromancers have weak attack power, movement recovery but can hit many targets with a single attack.

The Frost Golems cannot directly harm your opponent, but can cause chaos by Paralyzing them.
10. If you have an Assassin and a Cleric left over, and your opponent has a Dark Magic Witch and a Cleric, how many hits would it take to kill the Dark Magic Witch (assuming the opponent heals and moves whenever damaged, all pieces start with full health, and when the witch always attacks when it has no recovery)? Note: Your opponent moves first.

Answer: Three

The first move, he attacks you with his Dark Magic Witch. You respond by moving behind him and doing 18 damage, leaving him with 10 remaining. He then heals, bringing his health back up to 22. You copy him and heal, while he passes. You spend your next turn attacking again, but it is not enough to finish him off.

He still has 4 health. He attacks you, and you also have 4 health. You kill him, and finish off his cleric.
