Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the Boss's radio frequency in "Metal Gear Solid 3"?

Answer: 141.80

The boss is only on Snake's contacts during the virtuous mission and offers survival advice. Interestingly this is the same frequency used by Master Miller (liquid) in the original "Metal Gear Solid" game, who also offered survival advice.
2. Major Zero adopts the name "Major Tom" for the virtuous mission. He gets the idea for this codename from a film. Which film is it?

Answer: The Great Escape

He adopts his name from "The Great Escape" for good luck. In "The Great Escape", prisoners in a POW camp in Germany dig three tunnels in order to escape. They called the tunnels: "Tom", "Dick" and "Harry". Major Zero called himself "Tom" for the virtuous mission as he thought the prisoners escaped in that tunnel (for luck).

However as we find out later he made a mistake, as it was actually "Harry" that was used for the escape.
3. In the original "Metal Gear Solid", what level key card is required to go through the cargo door on the first floor of the Tank Hanger?

Answer: level 5

Snake requires a level 5 card to go through the cargo door. Unfortunately he only possesses a level 2 card at this time. Fortunately Meryl has a level 5 card and opens the door.
4. In "Metal Gear Solid 4", what song begins to play as you reach the heliport on Shadow Moses island?

Answer: The Best is Yet to Come

As the player reaches the heliport a wave of nostalgia sweeps him as the ending song from the original "Metal Gear Solid" game plays. This song has become synonymous with the "Metal Gear Solid" series.
5. "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops" takes place of the San Hieronymo peninsula. This known to the locals as "La Peninsula de los Muertos". What does this mean?

Answer: The peninsula of the dead

Roy Campbell tells us this at the beginning of portable ops. The peninsula itself is located on the central Colombian coast. Not a very good omen for the mission.
6. What is Para Medic's real surname?

Answer: Clark

We find out in "Metal Gear Solid 4" that the Dr. Clark that led the project to create the cyborg ninja, was actually para-medic from "Metal Gear Solid 3". She was killed be the cyborg ninja in a revenge plot soon after the Ninja's escape.
7. Which building did Rose think King Kong climbed in "Metal Gear Solid 2"?

Answer: Chrysler Building

Rose reveals this in a codec conversation in "Metal Gear Solid 2". Upon their first "coincidental " meeting, Rose told a group of Japanese tourists that King Kong probably climbed the Chrysler building whereas Raiden said it was the empire state. They argued until the tourists went away. They went their separate ways but the patriots would ensure they met again.
8. What is Eva's signature firearm?

Answer: Type 17 Mauser

Eva uses the Type 17 Mauser in both "Metal Gear solid 3" and "Metal Gear Solid 4". Big Boss recognized the talent she had in wielding the firearm as well as her impressive "horizontal sweep technique".
9. What kind of gun does Major Zero suggest would be useful to Naked Snake in operation snake eater?

Answer: A Snake-shaped gun

Believe it or not the major is a big James Bond fan and loves the gadgets, cars and guns. He suggests to Snake in a radio conversation that a snake shaped gun would be useful in the jungle. He suggests that he could pretend to grapple with the snake gun, and get a shot in on the enemy whilst they were distracted.

Snake was not amused.
10. What was Fortune's real name?

Answer: Helena Dolph Jackson

She was the daughter of Scott Dolph and the wife of General Jackson (hence the name Dolph-Jackson). It is very rare that she is referred to by this name.
