Answer: Pelican State

Louisiana actually jumped back and forth on the spelling of the Sports 'person' Paradise slogans - they also used the slogan 'YAMS' in 1954. Although pelicans were heavily featured on the plates, they never found their way into a legend.
2. Pennsylvania license plates in 1919 adopted the eye-straining color combination of ______________________.

Answer: Red on Black

Random color combinations were used on Pennsylvania from 1906 until 1921, when the first use of the state colors, blue and orange-gold came into use. Plates in 1922 were brown on cream, but from 1923, the blue and orange returned to stay.

The slogan 'PEACH STATE' was first used in 1940, and then until around the 1980s. Current Georgia plates have a peach in the place of the 'O' in the state name. The 1941 plate was an oversize yellow on blue plate, with a large full color peach decal in the center of the plate.
