1. When is it legal to turn right after stopping at a red light?

Answer: When there isn't sign posted at the intersection forbidding right turns on red AND you've come to a complete stop and allowed all crossing traffic and all pedestrians to go through the intersection.

You also must be able to clearly see that the turn can be done safely.
2. Under what circumstances is it legal to make a left turn after stopping at a red light?

Answer: When there is no sign posted which forbids left turns on red AND the turn is made from the extreme left lane of a one-way street to the extreme left lane of another one-way street.

It's illegal to turn left on red except from one, one-way street to another. When making a left turn on red you need to come to a complete stop and allow all crossing traffic and all pedestrians to go through the intersection before you go.

Answer: At least 100 feet.

You may use either hand/arm signals or your car's mechanical signal.

Other exemptions for the Mandatory Safety Belt Law:
1)People delivering mail or newspapers.
2)People carrying an affidavit from their doctor describing the medical conditions which prevent use of a safety belt.
3)People in vehicles manufactured before 1966.
