Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. DS & MG

Answer: Grey's Anatomy

In a hospital filled with residents all sleeping together, one couple came out as the McDreamy couple. "Grey's Anatomy" started off the show in 2005 with each of the residents sleeping with everyone. In 2015 Meredith lost her "valentine" in a car accident. After 11 seasons of such a fun couple growing so much, we lost him along with Meredith. It took awhile for Meredith to move on past Derek and she was able to see and talk to him again in season 17 during her bout with COVID, but she finally started laughing again in season 18. I have missed her smile and laugh for so many seasons.

There were so many couples on and off again in this show, but these two stuck out! Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey had a certain glow about them. Patrick worked with television and movies at the same time with romantic movies such as, "Enchanted", "Made of Honor" and "Valentine's Day". When Dempsey isn't acting you can find him racing around a track, another one of his loves.
2. S & A

Answer: Big Bang Theory

What can I say about Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler? Amy is probably the strongest character ever! She waited, not so patiently to share a bed and finally have sex with Sheldon! What a birthday present that was for her! My moment of pure love was when Sheldon proposed to Amy at her door. It was comical how he hops on a plane, flys across the country and knocks on her door. We had no idea that he would be on bended knee proposing to his true love. Two true nerds that found their perfect match on a dating site.

"Big Bang Theory" was a cute show to watch over the years as four nerds found happiness each week for 12 seasons. Jim Parsons was perfect in his role as Sheldon. Mayim Bialik found herself at a very young age in show business, playing the younger version of Bette Midler in "Beaches" to "Blossom" for 5 seasons. It took me quite a few years to get into this show and then I discovered the secret to its success. A great cast!
3. A & P

Answer: Married with Children

"Love and Marriage, love and marriage, go together like a horse and carriage..." is the song we would hear as "Married with Children" came on weekly. Did Al Bundy truly love Peg? Maybe not true love. She doesn't cook or clean. She loves to sit on the couch filing her nails. She desperately tries to get Al in the bedroom, but Al won't have it. Weekly we see the kids Kelly and Bud asking for money, along with Peg snooping through dad's wallet. Not the ideal family, but it worked and we laughed each week for 11 seasons!

Ed O'Neill and Kathy Sagal were the perfect duo for their roles as husband and wife. The show caused a bit of a ruckus at times. Viewers didn't know how to take a man with his hands in his pants every show. They didn't know how to take this families escapades at times. People were angry and wrote letters and boycotted the show and one of the episodes was completely cut out. The show was nominated but never won one Emmy or Golden Globe award.
4. D & S

Answer: Bewitched

Even though Durwood, I mean Darren Stevens didn't like his wife using witchcraft around the house, he did love his wife, Samantha! He would scream, "SAM" when the broomsticks started flying around, but it was always about the kisses and the hugs at the end of the day. I had to always chuckle at Samantha as she would say, "Wellllll..." when she would get in magical trouble.

Now we all know that "Bewitched" was about magic, but when they recast the role of Darrin from Dick York to Dick Sargent, no eyes moved. Elizabeth Montgomery's nose didn't twitched and no one really thought anything about it. Samantha went from kissing one husband one episode to another the next episode and didn't say a word. True love, no matter what! It was sort of magical that they had the same first names, the same look and build, but as they say, that's show business.
5. J & P

Answer: The Office

Pam was in a relationship with Roy but cherished her friendship with Jim. In season 2, Pam and Roy fought on and off during the season while Pam got closer to her "friend" Jim, sealing it with a kiss! In season 4 it was all about the romance and the love. Jim and Pam were 'a couple', the one couple we all wanted to see make it. The series continued for 9 seasons and Jim and Pam grew as a family, working out all the issues one episode at a time.

"The Office" was very popular in the "Valentine" department. Pam and Jim, Phyllis and Bob Vance, Angela and Dwight and Michael Scott and ... oh so many women he fell in love with, including Pam's mother. What a fun and show this was to watch all those years, but I won't forget John Kransinski and Jenna Fischer for their roles of Jim and Pam.
6. D & M

Answer: Moonlighting

David and Maddie had the most fun as private detectives. The Blue Moon Agency was in business from 1985 and continued for five seasons. I always thought how cute is was that the writers would be creative with old black and white episodes. Maddie owned the agency and David joined as a sarcastic and fun partner. The couple excited us as we waited for them to get together. It was fun watching them banter back and forth until that first kiss. For some reason the public got what they wanted and the ratings fell. What used to be a popular television show winning 6 Emmy Awards didn't have the suspense to us anymore.

Cybill Shepard went on to star in her own television show, "Cybill" in 1995 and Bruce Willis would make go on to make numerous movies including "Armageddon" and "The Sixth Sense".
7. J & C

Answer: Sex and the City

Real "Sex and the City" fans would finally see J for John as the name revealed on Carrie's phone at the end of the show. Carrie dated many men in six seasons of the show, but Big always came back, but at the end of the final season, when Big tells her that she is 'the one'. That's where you know it's going to last, at that exact moment. We all waited for the movie and yes they were finally married!

Carrie Bradshaw was played by Sarah Jessica Parker and John James Preston was played by Chris Noth. Carrie had been in 94 episodes while Big was only in 40 episodes, but his name was in a lot more as she tried to move on from their harsh relationship, at times. When I watched, "and Just Like That..." and Big had a heart attack and left his girl. My heart broke for her. She stayed with her man till the very end. She may find love in the future, but Big was her true love worthy of initials in a tree.
8. B & TL

Answer: Andy Griffith Show

Barney was the real star of "The Andy Griffith Show". Barney and Thelma Lou met at a funeral and he was smitten with her. Every time you knew when they were together because he would have lipstick kisses all over his face. As in his words, "she was the only girl I love." Barney left the show and Thelma Lou, but returned in, "Return to Mayberry" and finally ties the knot with his true love then.

Barney was played perfectly by Don Knotts. Thelma Lou was played by Betty Lynn and actually lived in Mount Airy at the end of her life. Mount Airy is home of the Andy Griffith Museum. There are so many items from the show and from the actors and actresses. I was able to visit there once and loved the statue of Andy and Opie with their fishing poles.
9. R & R

Answer: Friends

I could have come up with Chandler and Monica or Phoebe and Mike but Ross had his eye on Rachel for years! I have watched "Friends" so many times and know the episodes by heart pretty much, but when he came down the stairs in the tuxedo for the Prom and Rachel sees this on the tape, she couldn't help herself. She walked right up to Ross and gave him the true love kiss right there and then and I melted! They struggled with their relationship for close to 10 seasons with the 'break' and back again and the 'marriage in Vegas'. Somehow it was all good at the end as they started to realize that they did love each other, they had a beautiful daughter and life was good.

Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer was not the couple that I would have put together, but somehow they worked. She was the beautiful Rachel Greene while he was the bland and boring dinosaur man. The show was on from 1994 to 2004 and yes, I could see Rachel putting their initials in a tree.
10. R & L

Answer: I Love Lucy

I have to chuckle every time I would hear Ricky asking Lucy to "splain" her reason for her crazy antics that episode. It appeared that no one on the set was allowed to make fun of Ricky's accent, other than Lucy. The couple that we loved walked into our living rooms in 1951 and made us laugh with their comedy acts for 6 seasons. We grew along with the Ricardo family that added Little Ricky to the show. If you recall, the ending credits for "I Love Lucy" was a heart!

Both in real life and on screen Lucy and Dezi were in love and married for 20 years but towards the end of the marriage the zest died and they divorced. Lucille went on to marry Gary Morton a year later and Dezi married Edith Mack Hirsch three years later. Sometimes I feel that they both had true love for each other after the divorce, but sometimes you just have to move forward.
