    		I was going to suggest the Barbary Macaque, but they don't actually live in the military base. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibraltar_Barbary_Macaques Most fortresses will have populations of many sorts of animal, from mites upwards. Deserted fortresses will have the larger animals on the whole.
