Why is it important that all regions of chromosome are not continually active?

All of our genes have the same 46 chromosomes with the same information. The problem is, we have many different cell types that need to be able to do different things. By having only certain parts of a gene active at a time, it allows us to have different types of cells for example red blood cells, and eye cells, with only the necessary parts of the cell active at a time
