Who has kicked the longest goal in AFL/VFL history and where was this achieved?

The Australian Football League does not make this statistic readily available, probably because the dodgy records form the earliest years of the game will leave room for speculation. There have been many long kicks reported, including one of 100m, but the longest kick for goal I have found reported anywhere is 89 m, kicked by Jeff Fehring in 1981. The match was played at the St Kilda home ground in Moorabbin.

A 1981 match between Collingwood and St. Kilda saw an 89m goal kicked by Jeff Fehring of St. Kilda, minutes after he was reported. He received a free kick and torpedoed an 86m kick, which bounced an extra three metres for a goal. It was one of only three of Fehring's goals in a 22 game career.
