21- DRYS- (Government, Politics & Diplomacy)- a British Conservative politician who is considered to be a hard-liner. (A noun.)

19- DRIES- to make or become dry or free from moisture. (A verb.)

During the prohibition era, proponents of prohibition were referred to as "drys" and anti-prohibitionists were called "wets".

"Drys" is a noun, most commonly used in the United States to denote someone who favoured Prohibition, which made the sale of alcohol illegal.
"Dries" is a verb,, referring to the process of drying, whether be someone (He dries the dishes) or by nature (The flower dries in the sun).
