Mexico's so-called "Cave of Crystals" is some 290 meters (951') underground.

Once mining stopped, the cave has flooded and so draining the water is a major consideration.

Conditions there are harsh with temperatures around 58°C/136°F and high humidity (close to 100%). Gear is required to avoid having fluids condense in the lungs, otherwise exposure time is limited to short (10 minute) periods.
