What was the last line spoken in the movie 'The Maltese Falcon'?

    Question #63586. Asked by Jake104. (Mar 16 06 12:55 PM)

    Brainyblonde

"It's heavy. What is it?" Spade responds grimly while touching the bird [paraphrasing from Prospero's speech in Act IV of Shakespeare's The Tempest]:

The, uh, stuff that dreams are made of.

The actual final word of the film is the detective's puzzled response, "Huh?" Spade takes the statuette from Polhaus' hands, cradles it, and walks to the stairs in the hall.
