Are there any sports which only men or only women are allowed by sporting authorties to play?

Not exactly a sport in itself, but a sporting event, the Tour de France is strictly men only, although there is a womens version called the Grande Boucle. They tried to call it 'Le Tour' a number of years ago but were forbidden by the TdF authorities. There are some sports where there seems to be absolutely no reason why there should be discrimination, ie no physical contact and no strength element. Such as bowls, bowling, & chess. But tradition dies very hard. Oct 09 06, 9:58 AM

Are men's tennis matches umpired only by men and women's matches only by women? Are there any sports where men and women compete as a combined field, on the same terms? From what I've seen of the Islamic religion, it appears that only men attend mosques. Are women required to attend services of any kind? In which country that has a parliament are neither men nor women allowed to vote or stand for election?
