Here are some updates.
Work is still bad. Apparently nothing they are doing constitutes harassment so there's really nothing we can do about them.
We got the information packet for Dragonfest yesterday, it starts on August 4th so I'm running in circles trying to get things ready for that.
Jason is moving in, apparently his mother has a less than legal business plan and he decided that accomplice is an ugly word so he's coming here, the weekend after Dragonfest.
That same weekend one of my cousins from Montana is going to move into Mom's because she's going to CSU. I don't adapt to change quickly so this is going to be interesting to say the least.
Dad has a million things he needs to do so I'm trying to help him, at the same time I'm leaving cash at my sisters' house because I figure that at least one of us should have a refuge left.
Mom's also planning a birthday party for me since I'll be 30 this year.
If I survive August, I think I'll be okay but I'm anticipating a rough month.
I hope everyone is well. Have a happy day!

Thanks for the update Rayven. I hope you and Jason have lots of fun at Dragonfest. At least you know what to expect this year so no need to worry.

I know you guys will have fun at Dragonfest, just be careful.

I'll only say about the 'new roomate' thing...You NEVER know someone until you've lived with them. Take it slow!

Here's a short highlight of the last week or so. At Dragonfest, it rained at least twice every day, four of those times torrential downpours. The organization was haphazard, the people were pretty friendly, and pretty much we've not had a good week. My sister's car is causing issues and we helped her with that, my parents did a lot of my yardwork while we were gone, My living room is full of camping gear because it all needs to be set up to dry but it's raining here too. I've got my cousins coming to drop one off in two days and I get to go back to work tonight. I'd love to know who I made mad and how to apologize, and so would the rest of my family because none of us have had a good week or so. Hope everyone else is doing better and have a happy day!

It's good to see you again, but not after a week like that!

Makes a change, doesn't it, for your parents to be working in your yard? I'm sure they did it with good grace, though, and without any thoughts of reward.

Thank goodness at least the Dragonfest people were friendly.

I hope you dry out soon, and that work will be better than you expect.

The house next to me is for sale. I'd love to have it, but the price is a bit high. Mom saw it first and looked into it. When she told me the price and the restrictions on it, she said the only thing I could hope for is that someone tolerable moved in there. I've given serious consideration to e-mailing a real estate agent who is a friend of a friend to have her look into it. One of Mom's co-workers told her good job on raising kids with ambition. I told him it's not ambition, it's delusion. I'm fairly adjusted to Jason being here and my cousin being at Mom's but it's still odd. Probably will be for a while. That's about it. Hope everyone is well. Have a happy day!

I'm sure that my responses on some of the chat boards aren't winning me any friends. I've got another one. Hurricane Earl is scheduled to hit the east coast sometime in the next week. With that much warning I'm hoping that people will leave. That's what makes me so angry when people talk about Katrina. They had at least three days warning. How many people would have lived if they had just left? There's no common sense or practicality anymore. We have people who are so afraid of another religion that they don't want their centers built in certain areas. How moronic can people be? Damning an entire religion on the acts of a few rabid animals is no different than damning pit bulls because they are pit bulls. The location shouldn't matter. In case people forgot, Muslims died on 9/11 too and not just the hijackers. Why can't people just think!

Maybe it's that they think only about what they want to. (I have a friend from high school who I have to be very careful wat I say around her or we'd constantly get in arguments. Politics and religion are off limits-and while she has no problem with my mom's or my African-American friends, I need to omit certain details, like te countrythey came from. [She once told me to be careful when I told her I had a friend from Trinidad because there because "it's a Muslim Country." And her whole view about such countries: "let them blow themselves up!" [I wuld like to make it clear, here and now, that I do not in any way support or condone such views!])

I think we've had a few discussions about common sense on here. The consensus has usually been that common sense is anything but common.

That's a novel use of statistics - that 12% of the population being Muslim makes it a Muslim country.

As it's getting towards Thanksgiving here, I just wanted to say thanks for all you wonderful people!
We are going to Sterling in the morning on Thanksgiving but this year should be more fun. My aunt hurt my dad's feelings earlier this year and Grandma made Mom mad but we are going to see them, taking my long haired liberal leaning pagan boyfriend with us to visit my ultra conservative German Lutheran relatives. Then we are going to my mom's friends house. We call her Aunt Sue and eat there with people who actually like us. Hope yours is good to.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Rayven, my mother-in-law always had to make a stink at get togethers. It was always after she had eaten and enjoyed herself though. I never let her know that it annoyed me and I was her care taker right up to the last. God rest her soul.

Rayven, you're probably well on your way by now (I hope you're having a good journey), and my goodness it sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun. I look forward to hearing about it when you get back. :)

For some people, the holidays seem like the golden opportunity to raise a stink while all of their nearest and dearest are present. More attention that way? Bigger audience? For some, it's also probably alcohol talking.

Rayven, looking forward to hearing how it went when you get back!

Thanksgiving was wonderful! I was slightly disappointed because my dad's family was on their best behavior around Jason. Everybody visited, there was no snippy comments and everybody played nice. The jeep, which I took to the shop because it had no heat, once again has no heat. So it's back in the shop. The first time, mom and dad paid $175 towards getting it fixed as a Christmas present. I couldn't come up with anything I wanted so I gave everybody my Gurney's list. My sister has on hers $100 dollar shoes and various assorted clothing and accessories. Mine has radishes and blackberries and various assorted herbs. Takes all kinds I guess.
Hope everyone is well, have a happy day!

And this is a bad thing? Why would you be disappointed at that?
