I liked T Rex and Marc Bolan was a really talented guy and when he sat down to play his acoustic guitar it showed but sadly it was lost on the audience of screaming girls and guys. David Coverdale of Whitesnake has one of the best rock voices ever and even though they appeared with big hair and all the sexy strutting about the stage, they were solid musicians. Bon Jovi started the same way with their streaked and permed hair but again wrote and played some great stuff. I think for some of the bands that it was a way to capture the audience and that's how they started out, once they were hooked it was only a matter of selling more albums. Did you like it Blazer? Count me in for big Bon Jovi fan. I still like to listen to their music when I am out for a walk. Keeps me moving. I was lucky enough to go to one of their concerts once upon a time. Reply #3. Mar 22 12, 2:05 PM |

Love hair metal. But the only problem I have is that hair metal was just a term made by thrash metal bands to make them look like phonies. I luv Trixter! Reply #5. Nov 20 13, 10:03 AM |

Buncha hair farmers. I was, and still am, a Heavy Metal guitarist/bassist who believes the music should not be based on the image of the band but on the music itself. Image is what killed the 80's music scene. Too many bands, managers AND producers forgot what was tryin to be created and, instead, focused on the hair, makeup and clothing of a bunch of no-talent hacks who showed up on the scene and played the same mind numbing tunes that drove the public's attention to the Pacific Northwest and her "Grunge" scene.
