In no particular order:

Dry the River's "Shallow Bed".
A little known band, but this was an incredible album. I could listen to this album on repeat for hours. Possibly my favourite album of the year. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5g-DeG0MJc
Tame Impala's "Lonerism".
A Perth band which has found success worldwide, reminds me a lot of albums by the Beatles like "Revolver" or "Magical Mystery Tour". Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wycjnCCgUes
The Shins' "Port of Morrow".
Not as strong as their previous albums, but there are some ripper songs here. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoLTPcD1S4Q
Sigur Rós' "Valtari".
Another great album after a long break, full of beautiful ambient music from the Icelandic band. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf1h2PMPCAo
The xx's "Coexist".
Just what you'd expect from them, another triumphant album following from the success of their debut. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nW5AF0m9Zw
Bob Dylan's "Tempest".
Another great album by this legendary musician. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mns9VeRguys
The Tallest Man on Earth's "There's No Leaving Now".
With Dylanesque vocals and lyrics, he's produced another fantastic album. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cnf6EdGrsM
Mumford & Sons' "Babel".
Not as good as their previous album, but there are some real standout songs. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMJUbZrNnA8
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' "Here".
Full of great, catchy songs to make you smile. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08WeoqWilRQ
Saturday Sun's "Seagull EP".
Very little known band, but there are some beautiful songs on this EP. I own one of a very limited number of these CDs that were released. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h6hW5ogSy8
The Rubens' self titled album.
Little known Australian indie rock band, but a great debut. Sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJk-E0A6nxw

I hope to add Grizzly Bear's "Shields" to that list, but I haven't managed to listen to it yet.

(You don't have to do what I did, you can just make a list.)

I'm ashamed to admit I haven't bought one single new piece of music this year.
