I've not had the misfortune to be asked this question, many friends have though, "Can we still be friends?" As if...you've moved on, so will I. That would be my reply. The most really irritating one, you meet someone two weeks after a party and they ask you, "Have you sobered up yet!" Reply #42. Nov 25 08, 7:29 PM |

Lesley, since I have passe the three-score-years-and ten mark, I get very tired of having medical practitioners say "You're in very good health - for a woman your age!" (It's the second half of that sentice that irks me.) My GP would never say that to me because he knows I'd clout him! Reply #48. Dec 12 08, 9:55 PM |

I just thought of another catchphrase that irritates me" the paradigm shift. People who use it tend not to know what a paradigm is! Reply #49. Dec 12 08, 9:58 PM |

Good grief! I really do know how to spell 'sentence'. I don't know why I typed 'sentice'. I expect it's these blessed arthritic fingers of mine, coupled with the fact that I'm not wearing my glasses. But really, I'm in very good halth - for a woman my age. Reply #50. Dec 12 08, 10:01 PM |

"You're in very good health - for a woman your age!" Well, Cym I think it's better than what I hear on a twice a month basis - "You have the spine of someone in their 80's!" Considering the fact I am 29 years away from being 80... Reply #53. Dec 13 08, 5:49 PM |

Hmmmm... I feel very irritating right about now. I use so many of these phrases...:) Actually I don't know if anyone has posted it yet, but "Hmmmm..." is pretty irritating LOL. Reply #55. Dec 19 08, 12:16 PM |

Oh I almost forgot! (that's one right there) Have you ever said something that you thought was interesting or helpful to someone only to be interrupted by "I know that"? I hate it when people do that! Sometimes I want to say to them, "Well if you know everything I'm telling you, then why are you talking to me?" Grrr...and one more thing. At the very moment that you're hanging up the phone, the person you were talking to yells out, "Oh one more thing!" or "Don't hang up yet!"...kind of like how I said "and one more thing" at the beginning of this paragraph. I'm sure this is already on here somewhere, but I'm going to reinforce it: "It won't happen again." I can't stand it when people say that, especially when it most definitely is going to happen again. Reply #59. Jan 03 09, 9:42 AM |
