That's interesting because Italian restaurants in Italy always seem to like children and welcome them. Reply #121. Apr 06 17, 2:46 PM |

ElusiveDream – on March 14 you resurrected this thread from November 2016 called “Children in Pubs and Restaurants”. On March 19, you resurrected the thread, “Children in Restaurants”, which has been inactive since September 2011. What is the purpose in resurrecting two inactive threads on the same topic just days apart? Reply #122. Apr 06 17, 7:53 PM |

Reminds me of someone I know who isn't crazy about children so if anyone asks him "Don't you like children?", he replies "Yes, but I couldn't eat a whole one". That usually stops people dead in their tracks. As a tradesperson, he goes into people's homes a fair bit and he uses the same response when customers ask "Would you like a kitten/puppy?" (when they trying to get him to adopt a pet that they are looking to re-home). Reply #125. Apr 06 17, 11:32 PM |

Is there something wrong with me resurrecting inactive threads? Reply #126. Apr 06 17, 11:53 PM |

Elusive, the question was why did you revive two threads that had the same topic. Why didn't you revive only one of them? Reply #127. Apr 07 17, 12:10 AM |

No, but it is unusual and not something which is encouraged. Since you had already raised the more recent thread out of the two, it seemed odd to subsequently resurrect the older 2011 thread a few days later, particularly when it didn't add anything to the current discussion. It would have made more sense to leave the 2011 thread buried and continue with the active thread. Having two threads open just confuses the conversation. Reply #128. Apr 07 17, 12:17 AM |

To avoid confusion, perhaps one of these threads should be deleted. Reply #129. Apr 07 17, 3:25 AM |

If you are going to resurrect threads, please don't resurrect two on the same topic. You must have known that you'd already re-opened one when you then re-opened the second because you must have searched for both of them. I have now locked the other thread. As for children in pubs and restaurants, yes, their parents should teach them how to behave and know what to do when they don't... but I always look on children as the future of my pension so let's not eat them all at once, eh? Nice robe, flopsy. I haven't been in a real restaurant in so long, I didn't realize how much has changed. Children in our family are advised regarding expected behavior and consequences. Then we advise the adults regarding expected behavior and consequences. So far, the only problems were from the adults. The children were good as gold. Reply #131. Apr 07 17, 6:37 AM |
