Ugh, I figured out the first in no time but have absolutely NO idea what I'm supposed to do next. But again, only 38 people have solved it so far. Reply #41. Oct 14 12, 8:39 AM |

I know what the second cipher is, but I can't use it. And I haven't got a clue about the third cipher, which is probably normal since I haven't solved the second. Reply #42. Nov 17 12, 5:30 PM |

Lucky you. Most of us (myself included) only know the third cipher and not the second. Good luck solving it! Reply #43. Nov 17 12, 7:38 PM |

Or, most likely, what you consider to be the third cipher, tigasrule considers it to be the second. Reply #44. Nov 19 12, 12:48 AM |

Okay then: I know there is a certain cipher, and I have no idea whether it's the second or the third, nor what to do with it. Stuckity stuck! Reply #45. Nov 26 12, 4:34 PM |

I had no idea how to solve the code but I tried to figure out what it could say. I settled on the next to last word and went from there. I did solve it. Reply #46. Nov 26 12, 6:17 PM |

I would spend some time on it, but I have absolutely no idea how to continue. I even tried not even looking at it for a few weeks and try again, but even that proved useless. Reply #48. Nov 27 12, 7:05 PM |

I've got cipher 1 and 2, am now totally and utterly stuck on the third. Reply #50. Jun 17 13, 5:57 AM |

Resurrecting this to say I don't even SEE a third cipher. And the second is literally impossible to solve, no set of letters will fit the code to make valid words of all the parts. I think I have the first part solved, though it's impossible to say because two words will fit one part. I even installed a code-breaking program onto my computer to work on the second part and it came up with nothing. Reply #51. Aug 26 14, 10:40 PM |

Here's a stupid question. What is the codebreaker challenge and how do I find it? Reply #52. Aug 27 14, 10:55 AM |

I'm so tempted to write a string of meaningless gobbledygook then say you'll need to decipher that first... but I'll be kind and say go here: http://www.funtrivia.com/challenges.cfm Sort the challenges by name, then scroll down to Codebreaker. :) Reply #53. Aug 27 14, 11:34 AM |

There are the symbols and the letters. I believe the first cipher involves the symbols. Furthermore, the second and the third involves the letters. I know (or think I know) one of the two codes to use on the letters but I am missing a key piece of information. (All of this was just my guessing and not meant to be a fact.) Interestingly, one of the hints on the challenge page says "there are web tools that can help you with all codes used in this puzzle" yet I have not been able to find a place that will help me find out what code is being used. Try to figure out what the next to the last word can be and work from there. I had no idea how to figure out the code but was able to figure out what the next to last word was and tied it to the last word. Reply #55. Aug 27 14, 6:30 PM |

When you say "tied [the second to last word] to the last word" Are you trying to say the last word of 6 letters (or 5 letters, I know "x" is often used to get either an even or odd number of letters depending on the cipher) is the word we need to input into the text box? I found a site that gave me a list of 2-letter words and am trying to figure out which one it is (I have an idea). The fact that first two letters of the last word are the same (just reversed) as the second-to-last word means that if it is a 6 (or 5) letter solution means that it probably should come easier than it is coming. I think that no one should explain clues or give detailed explanations of how to complete this badgelet, or others of a similar vein, on a chatboard. Making a general statement that underlines the challenge text is one thing, getting into detailed descriptions of what may or may not apply to specific parts of the challenge is going a bit far in my opinion. It's perfectly possible to do this challenge using tools you can find online if you keep your wits about you and follow all the instructions. A dose of common sense helps too though I don't think you can find that online. Reply #57. Aug 28 14, 5:08 AM |

I've spent close to a year trying to break the code. I don't know what I'm missing and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Like many, I was able to easily decoded the first portion. I THINK I've discovered the cipher that is necessary for the second portion, but I have had no success whatsoever when it comes to making any sense of it. An exercise in total frustration. Reply #59. I seem to recall reading in another thread that it being okay to discuss possibilities and getting some help, while making sure not to give away the solution. (Maybe it was the Riddle, maybe it was both, or maybe I am right and it was the Code Breaker challenge.) Reply #60. Aug 28 14, 6:58 PM |
