Subject: Bowie or Lennon

Bowie is only seven years younger than Lennon. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fanatical Beatles fan. I just think that Bowie's canon is more impressive than Lennon's. Remember, I am debating the Lennon and Bowie solo stuff. Bowie is far more in my opinion, much more cerebral.

Overall, I have to go with Bowie. This is mostly because Lennon had only 10 or 11 years to do solo work. I do think Bowie's music has always been more varied than Lennon's was. Bowie is the master at constantly changing his musical style and image. His song "Changes" fits him well!

Definitely Bowie-- though I like Lennon. Fame, which has both Bowie and Lennon (as backing vocals), is not on my Top 100 for Bowie songs

Lennon, without a doubt! Who has written more songs and changed the world of music in our time more than John Lennon has?

Never miss chance to vote John Lennon. He had far less time to do anything as a solo artist. The fact that despite the difference in career lengths the question is even asked is rather telling. For me, it's always John.

I have to go with David Bowie, he's always been more interesting and mysterious to me.

I'll go with John Lennon, mainly because I'm still a Beatles fan!

Both very different but Lennon wrote some classics, both with Paul and alone. From I saw her standing there to Imagine!
