My first instinct tells me the 1960's. I thought about it some more, compared artists, thought of my favorite bands and songs. My conclusion? My first instinct was right: the 1960's! Reply #1. May 01 19, 2:43 PM |

Here's what it all boils down to for me. You know that word you do to the end of a straw to get liquid to come up through it? Well, in my opinion, there was no music at all that did that in the 60s. All of it was good. It wasn't until the 70s when music began to do that, and there was a lot of it going on. However, at the same time, the 70s were definitely the most creative years that rock music has ever experienced, and by the end of the 80s, everything that could be done with rock music had basically, in some way, shape or form, had already been done. Don't take my word for it by all means, all you have to do is listen. I'll say this much, in the days of my youth I was told what it means to be a man. And now, well, now I've reached the age I've tried to do all those things the best I can. The thing is, no matter how I try, I find my way to the same old jam. Reply #2. May 02 19, 9:29 AM |

I like the music of the 'thirties, 'forties, and 'sixties. The thirties because I really like classic ballads by Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, and the like. The forties because I love big band, swing, and jazz. The sixties because of all the great folkies around then - Seeger, Dylan, Baez, Buffy, and the rest, and I still think that the Beatles was one of the best groups ever! Reply #3. May 05 19, 7:05 PM |

Each decade has its merits and great songs and a lot of it depends on the type of genre a person likes as to what they will choose.. Reply #6. Jun 12 22, 6:52 AM |

Probably the 80s. It was the decadal renaissance when everything went onto the table: new wave, hip hop, southern rock, synth-pop, metal, glam, techno, electronic. As soon as Madonna and The Go-Go's kicked in the door, the 80s were just bum rushed with great female acts. Lots of big comebacks for previously-established bands as well: Foreigner, Styx, AC/DC. Early-to-mid 90s great too. Reply #7. Dec 06 22, 5:42 PM |

It depends on when the person you ask grew up. Each person has a different answer. This is a question that doesn’t have a right or wrong answer. Reply #8. Oct 20 23, 1:48 PM |

I was born in the 50s, so for me the 70s were the best of everything. I was in-to Heavy Rock/Rock, however some of the bands from the late 60s also pulled my strings, no pun intended. Reply #10. Oct 24 23, 8:57 AM |

I can't limit it to a decade, but most of the 19th century did well for me. Reply #11. Oct 24 23, 10:48 AM |
