And yes, some of these could very much cross over with this challenge here. Reply #1. Jan 16 22, 12:57 PM |

Sorry for the double post, but I'd like to know if Hobbies (i.e. food and drink) would also be allowed as a non-Geo category. Reply #3. Jan 16 22, 2:06 PM |

No need to apologize for a double-post around here. Looney_Tunes is the best resource for determining Bus Ride eligibility around here, and if you have an idea in mind then a quick chat might be able to get it into the shape it needs to work for the challenge. I doubt Hobbies is out of the realm of possibility. Reply #4. Jan 16 22, 2:31 PM |

Food and Drink has been used before - but some attempts haven't rated that well, because the average player isn't familiar with the cuisine. Remembering that the Bus Ride players need to get half right to count the stop as they work for the badge, you want to make sure that there are at least that many 'gimme' questions in the quiz. Now that you mention it, I remember playing a food-based Bus Ride quiz a couple of months ago (now I don't remember the author). If I decided to go that route, I'd try to make the questions accessible to most players. Anyway, there is already a Mixed Sweden quiz (which is likely to be one of those in the rotation for the Bus Ride), and I'd rather write in another category than Geography. There's always World with various possibilities (such as UNESCO sites). Would People or History also work? Reply #6. Jan 16 22, 5:36 PM |

LadyNym, People and History both definitely work - we have several of each bouncing around. Also animals - it would probably want to have lovely pictures, as is the case for the one of yours I just rotated in for the Philippines. Reply #8. Jan 16 22, 7:18 PM |

I have a good idea for a Japan quiz. It's going to be non-Geo and it's going to be non-MC... that's all I'm saying right now. :) Reply #10. Jan 16 22, 9:53 PM |

@LT: thank you for selecting my quiz for the Philippines! I'd rule out writing about Swedish fauna, as it's not that different from Finnish fauna - which was the subject of one of my quizzes, written some time during 2021. On the other hand, People or History would be excellent categories. There are only four quizzes about Swedish people, and none about the country's history. Reply #11. Jan 17 22, 5:51 AM |

And here it is: https://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/History/Two-Thousand-Years-of-Sweden-407985.html. Let's keep fingers crossed! I hope people will give it a try even if they don't know anything about Sweden and its history. Judging by the average, it seems the questions I wrote are quite accessible. Reply #12. Can we do Hobbies, i.e. food-related quizzes (Iranian cuisine etc.), or is that too niche? Reply #19. Mar 04 22, 1:54 PM |

Food related is definitely fine - there have been several examples on the tour. The focus is on exploring the country to find out things you didn't know. However, you need to make sure it isn't too difficult - tourists need to get half right to score the day, so find it frustrating if that doesn't happen, no matter how well written and informative it is. If I am debating between two quizzes, the one with an average score of at least 7 will be selected over one at 5-6. Reply #20. Mar 04 22, 3:57 PM |
