( If the exact category matters, you need to state that explicitly in the message to the editors box. Don't just assume that saying it is for a particular challenge means they will know this - they may not be familiar with that particular challenge. ) Fair point. I always forget about that bit. 1) Is there a point when the picture and/or frame are locked in? It would suck to have them disappear on you a year down the road when an editor makes a category adjustment. Yup-- end of the month. But to be honest, I thought they locked in as soon as you claim the picture/frame. I agree retroactive changes shouldn't affect things within the month. Reply #102. Mar 13 23, 12:30 PM |

I was also under the impression that it was locked in once the frame was claimed. If it can be "revoked" even after it being specifically claimed, then I think something in the code needs to be altered. Reply #103. Mar 13 23, 5:14 PM |

It’s very true that editors are unlikely to know the requirements, especially if they aren’t playing the challenge themselves. I’ve gotten so many Bodies of Water quizzes this month that I knew the category must be part of some challenge, but had no idea that sub categories wouldn’t qualify. And yes, we move quizzes all the time - it’s not unusual for your quiz to be the one that makes an editor think “Hmmm, this could use a sub cat”. That’s what happened in this case. Reply #104. Per Terry: "Checked the code… it was recalculating every time the page loaded, so frames could be lost of reqs were lost. I have added a check so that once a frame is earned it cannot be taken away no matter what happens to the quizzes." Reply #105. Mar 16 23, 10:54 AM |

Should be fixed going forward. Does anyone believe they are owed a frame, and if so, which one? Reply #106. Mar 16 23, 11:51 AM |

Very unfortunately, the system won't let me create new templates for I have too many already. Thus I cannot create new templates to earn paintings. *sigh* I guess this will motivate me to hurry up with getting them online. I did get an unframed copy of the January painting, though. That's it, voila! Now I shall go pour out my soul over a quiz I am currently writing about my favorite TV series and hope to see it online sometime in April (how is this relevant? It's not. I am just trying to make myself a bit happier.) I made my bed, now I have to sleep in it. Reply #111. Apr 02 23, 11:51 PM |

Ahhh!! I love April's painting, I must earn it! Can somebody tell me it's alright to adopt just one quiz to fulfill the requirements? I found one that I know I can do a good job with, and quickly too. Oh, my mind is racked. I must have April's painting! Reply #112. Apr 04 23, 12:54 AM |

It's possible to fulfill all three requirements to get the unframed version, but you need two quizzes to earn the framed version. Reply #113. Apr 04 23, 12:56 AM |

I know that. My problem here is that I have eight adoptees in progress now, and was advised not to adopt anymore until my current ones go online. Reply #114. Apr 04 23, 12:58 AM |

Ignoring the adoptees, VBookWorm, is there a template you have set up that you could repurpose to meet one of the requirements? You only need to need one to get the painting. If you have never submitted a partially-written template, you can simply delete what is there, change to the required category if necessary, or rename to make it fit a requirement, and write a new quiz. If you want to save what you have already written, you can copy it into a word processing document for temporary storage. While this won't help you reduce your adoptee queue, it will at least not involve making yet another new template. If that doesn't work, get writing on some of those adoptees! You have another four weeks (almost) to get one for the April painting. It only has to be set up during April (and I think submitted during the month, too) but not necessarily online, so you can work on necessary revisions, if any, and claim it during May. Reply #115. Of course, my repurposing suggestion would only work if you set a template up during the last few days, which is unlikely. So get cracking on the backlog! Reply #116. Apr 04 23, 3:00 AM |

That's how I got the January painting! Thanks for your advice. I have two or three adoptees ready to go, and they'll be submitted periodically. Reply #117. Apr 04 23, 9:17 AM |

It took quite a bit of time and effort to get this one off the ground, so if the crossword/statue idea were to be implemented, it would likely take some time before that could happen. Reply #119. May 11 23, 8:11 PM |

If I submitted a template in May, created in April, would I get the painting (in this case, the frame) when it goes online? Reply #120. May 11 23, 9:22 PM |
