Paul O'Neill. Paul H. O'Neill is the current Treasury Secretary. Paul A. O'Neill played outfield for the Cincinnati Reds from 1985 to 92, then for the Yankees from 1993 to 2001. Edward "Whitey" Ford, member of the Hall of Fame, pitched for the Yankees from 1950 to 1967. Horace Clarke was an infielder for the Yankees from 1965 to 1974, playing the balance of that year with the San Diego Padres. Dave Winfield played outfield for the Padres, Yankees, Angels, Blue Jays, and Twins from 1973 to 1995.

George Burns. Comedian George Burns, born Nathan Birnbaum, lived to be 100, much longer than his wife, Gracie Allen. Outfielder George Burns played for the New York Giants from 1911 to 1921, the Cincinnati Reds from 1922 to 24, and the Phillies in 1925. There was also an American League first baseman named George Burns during that era, but let's not go into that! Charles Corell, though not African-American, was Andy on the top hit radio show "Amos and Andy" in the 30s. Of course, you know who Jack Benny was.

Jimmy Walker. Comedian/actor Jimmy Walker had a prominent stand-up act before he played J.J. on "Good Times," which made him so popular he changed his first name to J.J. Politician James "Jimmy" Walker was mayor from 1926 to 1932, when he resigned in the midst of a scandal. He was played in the movie "Beau James" by Bob Hope. I have no idea why.
