Poor Flo, in Andy Capp, this is what she has to put up with; a husband who doesn't have a job, has no motivation to get one, who cannot pay their rent yet, somehow, manages to find money for cigarettes and a drink at the pub. As stated, he is usually inebriated (with "usually" meaning seven days a week), he's overstayed his welcome at the pub, gotten into a fight and thrown in the cells or he's being fished out of one of the local canals by the local police. Flo, which is short for Florence (she was named after Florence Nightingale), lives constantly on the poverty line and it is not unusual for her to see their furniture repossessed. More than once she has clobbered her husband with a rolling pin. This generally occurred in the early years of the strip but has since been curtailed. The shoe does tend to shift to the other foot some times, because Flo enjoys her bingo and she too has managed to come home late to find her husband waiting at the door, arms folded and, impatiently, tapping his foot. "Andy Capp", created by Reg Smythe, has been appearing in the Daily Mirror since 1957.

On 12th December 2012, the theme park gave away free glasses to celebrate the milestone of over 5 million glasses of Butterbeer being sold.

Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel" which is named the "Vesper" after Vesper Lynd, the female character in both the book and movie. In one rare occasion, he's seen drinking a beer with CIA man Felix Leiter.

When Matt Groening introduced the world to Homer Simpson back in 1987, one would have been hard pressed to find another leading protagonist in an animated series with such a fondness for beer as Homer. It would take the introduction of another Groening creation, Bender from "Futurama" in 1999, and Peter Griffin ("Family Guy" 1999) before Homer had any serious competition in that department. As the balding, overweight patriarch of the Simpson family, Homer is lazy, at times incompetent, addicted to junk food and loves watching television. However, despite becoming a cultural icon and one of the most influential characters on television, I certainly wouldn't be keen on taking his advice, such as the pearl of wisdom above, dished out to his son Bart in the 1997 episode "The Springfield Files".

Meatloaf, much more appetizing than the name inspires, has been around in history since the first millennium. It consists of some form of ground meat, often lamb in the recipe's infancy, now it is most commonly ground beef. Mix in some grain (bread crumbs, oatmeal, etc.) and some vegetables you have lying around, cook, and serve sliced with a little sauce on top. The singer born Marvin Aday, now known as Meat Loaf (space required) hit the charts the first time in the late 1970s. With his mega-album "Bat Out of Hell", he had hits of "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" and Paradise By the Dashboard Light". He made a resurgence in 1993 with his album "Bat Out of Hell II", and the Billboard Number One song "I Would Do Anything For Love". He mainly stays in the spotlight with small acting gigs.

'Snow White', or in German 'Schneewittchen', is the world-famous fairytale penned by the Brothers Grimm. The story documents the hatred that a queen has for her stepdaughter (Snow White) due to her youthful beauty. The rather extreme result of her envy, especially for a piece of literature much loved by children, is multiple attempts at taking the young girl's life! The first attempt involved sending a huntsman into the woods but the huntsman found that he didn't have the heart to kill such a young girl and so refused to carry out the deed. The second was attempted death by bodice; the Queen, in disguise, visited Snow White at the dwarves' home and sold the girl a bodice. The Queen then proceeded to tighten it to such an extent that Snow White fainted and she was left there to die. The dwarves came to the rescue though and untied the bodice allowing Snow White to return to consciousness. The remaining two attempts at the life of Snow White made use of poison; firstly, the poison was applied to a comb which caused Snow White to faint when she brushed her hair, and secondly, the famous apple was laced with poison which, for a while at least, appeared to have finally finished the young girl off. Snow White did live happily ever after though!

At the hastily convened court at which Dean Wormer revokes the fraternity's charter, Doug Neidermeyer testifies that there were "individual acts of perversion so profound and disgusting that decorum prohibits us listing them here". But was it really that bad... so a keg got thrown through a window, some ladies coats got thrown on the floor, John Belushi's "Bluto" commits an act of heroism by smashing a folk singer's guitar and everyone has a great time dancing to Otis Day & the Knights' rendition of "Shout". The most memorable scene during the course of the party was the late arrival of the grocery checkout cashier, Clorette DePasto (Sarah Holcomb), who immediately hooks up with Pinto (Tom Hulce), skulls a couple of beers because she has "a lot of catching up to do" and then passes out in the bedroom at the point where they (she and Pinto) were looking to take the relationship to the next step. It's at this point that Pinto has an hilarious fight with his conscience and then, does the right thing, and deposits the girl home in a shopping trolley.

The Duff drinker is Homer Simpson, the patriarch of the Simpson family and a regular at Moe's Tavern. Duff is so popular in the 'Simpsons' world that it even has its own theme park, complete with a Small World-inspired ride featuring a river of Duff (into which Lisa once fell by accident, and got very drunk). While several real life brands called 'Duff' exist, 'Simpsons' creator Matt Groening does not want to licence the Duff trademark in case it encourages children to drink. One can and Duke is toasted. His vision immediately blurs, sounds grow deeper and there is a slowing in his movements.
