a bag of flour. Klaus and Violet had to study for their exam and Sunny had to make staples for the next day. So, Isadora and Duncan dressed up as Violet and Klaus and stole a bag of flour to look like Sunny.
The Baudelaires wouldn't give her a tip. Carmelita complained that she delivered messages nine times and they never gave her a tip. Klaus said that he didn't want to break their tradition.

Plop. There is a tan fungus growing on the ceiling which the Baudelaires have to keep dodging to avoid getting hit. To get rid of it, they sprinkled salt on it.
He mocks them. Principal Nero even mocked the Baudelaires the very first time he met them! He's so proud of himself. He plays the violin and thinks he's a genius.
None, she works with Principal Nero. Sunny is a baby so they made her work with Principal Nero so she could do something.
"Remember you will die". The motto is "Memento Mori" which is a Latin phrase that means "Remember you will die". That is a rather unusual motto for a school, but not for this book!
Moss was oozing out of them. The bricks were so old moss was "oozing" out of them. The school children often slipped on them.
Ocean decoration. The paper has ocean decoration on it because it's "in". "In" is a phrase which comes from the next book- "The Ersatz Elevator" which I have made a quiz on.
