Mata-Nui and Makuta. Mata-Nui is the Spirit that the Matoran named the island after. Makuta is Mata-Nui's brother, who put Mata-Nui into a deep sleep. Vakama and Nokama are two of the Turaga. Pohatu is the Toa of Stone. Tarakava is a Rahi.

Protodermis. Protodermis is also in different forms, and in liquid form, it transformed the Toa into Toa Nuva. Lightstones are used to light up the caves and tunnels.

Turaga. Before leaving for Metru Nui, Turaga Vakama tells the Toa Nuva that they were not the first Toa. He tells them that the Turaga used to be Matoran on Metru Nui and were transformed into the Toa Metru by Toa stones. Bionicle 2 shows how they became Turaga.

Makuta's Lair then travel by boat. There is a heavy gate in Makuta's lair, which when lifted, reveals a city surrounded by a sea of protodermis which needs to be crossed by boat.

Vahi. Tahu used the Vahi to destroy the Bahrag, the queens of the swarms of Bohrok.
Kopaka (olda). Kopaka Nuva was first mentioned in 2003 and Kopaka (olda) was in the first frame of the first comic. He was first mentioned as he got out of his canister. He then met Matoro as a 'Tohunga'.
Matau. Matau carried twin aero slicers and wore the mask of shapeshifting. All of the others weren't in 2004, although they are all green Toa. Lewa was in 2001-2002, Lewa nuva in 2003 and 2008, and Kongu Inika was in 2006.
Jaller Mahri. Jaller Mahri was released in 2008, and he has a crab creature carring his cordak blaster/launcher. Nuparu Mahri carried a shield and held his Cordak Blaster, and Matoro had a Twin Cutter and carried his Cordak Blaster. Kongu Inika didn't even have a Cordak Blaster.

Hewkii and Matoro. Hewkii can build stuff and so he can get gears onto doors and/or pull levers to open the doors. Matoro can zoom in with incredible accuracy to hit switches located inside the room/chamber.
Visorak venom. Keetongu is good, and Ba'alzamon and Lord Voldemort aren't even Bionicle. Obviously, that leaves only Visorak venom. The leader, Vakama, was arrogant enough to lead them into a visorak trap. the visorak ambushed them, and spun the Toa Metru into cocoons. The cocoons had tiny spikes carrying visorak vemon in them.
Toa Nuva and Toa Inika. First the Nuva went, but they got captured by the Piraka. Then six matoran in canisters went and got transformed into Toa and they called themselves Toa Inika. They had electricity in their powers.
