It was Saturday. Before finding out that it was Saturday Little Peggy Ann McKay claimed all sorts of ailments including: measles, mumps, a gash, a rash and purple bumps, instamatic flu, sprained ankle and 'pendix pains. As soon as she discovered it was indeed Saturday she was cured and went out to play.

The Giving Tree. Originally published Oct 7, 1964 and re-released recently in a 40 year anniversary edition. This is one of my all time favorite books ever written in the history of publishing. I give several copies as gifts each year.
Playboy. Shel's last contribution was in January of 1998 when he wrote "Hamlet as Told on the Street". Shel passed away the following year in Florida.
