Flesh and Gold. Both of the Keruvims were needed to control the world. One was made of gold, the other was made of flesh. The one made of flesh was Raphah. Both of these Keruvims belonged to the God Riathumus.
Dagda Sarapuk. Demurral and Dagda Sarapuk were both drunk and Demurral persuaded Sarapuk to bet the vicarage on a cockroach race. Sarapuk chose the biggest and fattest cockroach he could find whereas Demurral chose the smallest and thinnest. Demurral's cockroach won and the vicarage became his.
Africa. Raphah came from Africa on Riathumus' orders to retrieve the Keruvim which one of his kind had given to Demurral.
Bealda and Ephrig. Reuben and his sons are all boggles. They have six fingers on each hand. When Thomas and Kate escape from the Varrigal they stay the night at Boggle Mill.
A shoemaker's shop. Abram takes Thomas, Kate and Raphah to rest in this house, knowing that Joab Mullberry can be trusted. The cellar is a shoemaker's shop with an ale house opposite it.
