Lucivar Yaslana. Tersa says to Daemon, "You are your father's sons" about him and Lucivar.
Philip. Jaenelle tells Daemon that her legal father, Robert, is not her birth father; that Robert's half-brother Philip is her birth father.
her teacher. Saetan is teaching Jaenelle craft without the knowledge of her family.
25. Jaenelle shows Saetan 12 uncut lighter jewels (White, Yellow, Tiger Eye, Rose, Summer-sky, Purple Dusk, Opal, Green, Sapphire, Red, Gray, and Ebon-gray) and 13 uncut Black Jewels.
assassin. Surreal is privately a very good assassin. She does not share this with anyone who really knows her besides Daemon.
Wilhelmina. Alexandra is the mother of Leland and mother-in-law of Robert because he married Leland. Leland has a daughter, Jaenelle, whose real father is Philip. Robert has a daughter from his first marriage, Wilhelmina. Alexandra is considered Wilhelmina's grandmother.
Jaenelle. Jaenelle, unaware that Daemon and Saetan are father and son, mentions each to the other. Saetan and Daemon end up corresponding in notes via Jaenelle.
Greer, Robert, Kartane. Greer, Robert Benedict, and Kartane SaDiablo are together trying to hurt Jaenelle.
a witch. Ari is the youngest of three witches who lived at Brightwood.
Fae. All five of those characters are Fae. They each rule a specific gift and have another animal form they can shift into.
Adolfo. Adolfo calls himself the Witch's Hammer because he is very good at convincing villagers that lone women are witches so that he can persecute them and force them to tell everyone all the "bad" things they've done to justify execution.
the Gatherer of Souls. Morag is Fae and the Gatherer of Souls. That means she can take someone's soul while they are still living (kill them with her gift).
Branches of the Mother, witches. After Ari tells Aidan that she has heard of the Pillars of the World, he compares the Pillars of the World to the Branches of the Mother. Ari knows that the Pillars of the World are witches (her grandmother read it in the family journals and told her) but she does not tell Aidan because she guesses that he can figure it out on his own.
Neall. Ari loves Neall, not Lucian, so she agrees to marry Neall and go with him to the land his mother left him when she died.
Ahern. Ahern dies to save Ari and Neall and give them time to escape. Royce dies but not to save anyone. Lucian almost gives his life in exchange for Ari's. Morag is not even harmed.
Saetan. When Jaenelle rises to protect Saetan from Hekatah, Saetan is the only one who wears jewels dark enough to feel her presence.

2, Gabrielle and Karla. Jaenelle, along with Gabrielle and Karla, was born with a triple gift of Queen, Black Widow, and Healer.
Lucivar. Lucivar tries to commit suicide by flying through the Khaldharon Run when he is already injured. Prothvar sees him and brings him to Saetan who summons Jaenelle to heal him.
Hekatah. Hekatah sends the Jhinka to destroy Jaenelle and Lucivar and sends the witch storm so they will not be able to send for help when they are overwhelmed by the Jhinka.
Cassandra, Titian. Cassandra objects to Titian being there because the two women do not get along and because Titian is a Harpy and Cassandra does not think she is a good friend for Jaenelle.
Luthvian. Luthvian gave Lucivar away to Prythian, the High Priestess of Askavi, when he was just a baby because she thought she was keeping him safe from Saetan, his father. Lucivar knew Luthvian when he was growing up but never suspected she was his mother. Jaenelle helped reconcile them.
the Dark Council. The Dark Council grants all Jaenelle's parental rights to Saetan after he kills all the members of the Council who oppose him. Later they try to take her from him, but do not succeed.

Queen of Ebon Askavi. Jaenelle is called Queen of Ebon Askavi. She is also called Lady of the Black Mountain.
t. Dorothea only tells the crowds that so that they might trust her and will go along with her new schemes.

13. The Eyriens that Lucivar buys the services of are: Hallevar, Falonar, Endar, Orian, Dorian, Alanar, Nurian, Jillian, Kohlvar, Rothvar, Zaranar, Palanar and Tamnar. Palanar and Tamnar are not named in Goth, Hallevar tells Lucivar he has two boys with him, they aren't named until Jaenelle returns.
Daemon. Daemon is his father Saetan's mirror image in more than just appearance.
Sylvia. Saetan had most recently been seeing Sylvia but thought she deserved better than a Guardian for a husband so he did not accept her marriage proposal. In the past Saetan had loved Cassandra but she feared him so he could never marry her. Saetan might have loved Tersa. He certainly cared for her a great deal. Saetan never even came close to loving Luthvian, though he cared for her once she gave birth to his son.
SaDiablo. Surreal gives the name SaDiablo because her father is Kartane SaDiablo and she does not know her mother's family name. At the time she does not know that the SaDiablo name is well known in Kaeleer. She is unhappy with the consequences when she does find out.
Saetan, Lucivar, & Daemon. Father, Brother, Lover. That is the triangle of men who must remain together to stay alive. Saetan is Jaenelle's adoptive father, Lucivar is her adoptive brother, and Daemon is her lover. This triangle was mentioned by Tersa, the Arachnian Queen, and Draca.
Marian and Daemonar. First Daemon tortures Marian and Daemonar's "bodies". Really, they have escaped and he is torturing shadows. Next comes Surreal, then Lucivar, and finally Saetan.
