Dailey, Janet
1977. This was Janet's first long novel after writing at least one book set in each state for Harlequin Romance.
Brad. Brad turned out to be a real jerk...and Sheila was much better off without him!
Rafaga. Rafaga, meaning "like the wind."
She was tied to a post and whipped. It was a harsh punishment, but one that made sense to those in the band.

Get married. They barely left the camp, on their way to get married, before they were spotted.
Scott Ludlow. Interesting factoid: Laredo appears in one of Janet Dailey's Calder books, years after the events of TTW, and is "paired up with" Jessy Calder.
"She ran to him.". Janet was later asked if there would ever be a sequel to TTW. The reply was no, but she did say what happened to Rafaga and Sheila:
Rafaga's real name was Raul Cordero. He and Sheila got married and their son was named Diego. Through her father, Raul and Scott (Laredo) gained amnesty, and the Corderos had a ranch in Mexico.
Chase Calder. Jessy Calder raised Trey and Laura with the help of her father-in-law Chase, after her husband Ty was killed.
His son Boone's death. Max and Boone were neighbors of the Calder "Cee-bar Ranch" in Texas, who coveted the land for themselves.
free lance photographer. After catching a glimpse of her as he is checking into the hotel, Trey meets Sloan as she is working while helping to save a friend from a bull she is snapping pictures of at the show.
Maui, Hawaii. Originally from Louisiana, Sloan has lived all over the place. She currently has a beach house on Maui that she calls her home base.
she brought her camera. They are discussing her other trips to Montana which were always in the mountains or Glacier Park. Sloan comments that the mountains were always big and beautiful, but here ...there's a different kind of bigness. Trey agrees and says "A big land and a big sky".
swings. Talking about courting Sloan he realizes that he wants it all including sitting on a front-porch swing on a moonlit night, stealing kisses and hoping nobody turns on the porch light.
redecorating their rooms at the Homestead. Tara, who is the ex-wife of Trey's late father, continues to insinuate herself into the Calder family.
Jacob Matthew Calder. Sloan and Cat were stopping for a quick bite at the Oasis, where Sloan suspected her husband was having an affair with the waitress after seeing her wearing a diamond bracelet. Sloan went into labor on the return trip to the ranch.
