Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Kenyon, Sherrilyn
Acheron. Acheron, known as "Ash" to his friends, was the first Dark Hunter created by the Goddess Artemis. He feels a keen sense of resposibility for the other Dark Hunters.
Artemis. When a person dies in a tragic, violent way, their soul screams out for revenge, and the goddess Artemis comes and offers that person the option of becoming a Dark Hunter. In exchange for the revenge they desire, the person must sacrifice their soul to Artemis and become a Dark Hunter. They spend the rest of eternity protecting humans from Daimons, vampires who eat souls to stay alive.
Wulf. The appolites are a cursed race of people who die a horrible death on their twenty seventh birthday. To avoid this fate, they have two choices; either kill themselves the day before their birthday, or turn daimon and steal the souls of others in order to stay alive. Neither is a very appealing option.
Zarek. Zarek was the outlaw of the Dark Hunters. He never followed the rules and the goddess Artemis wanted him to die. She sent Astird, a Judge from Olympus, to determine if there was anything good in him to save. Unfortunately for Artemis, Astrid falls in love with Zarek and finds a very sensitive soul underneath his cold exterior.
Valerius. Valerius was a Roman General when he was human. His grandfather was the one who murdered Kyrian and now that both Kyrian and Valerius are Dark Hunters, Kyrian still has an extreme hatred for him and vows to kill him if they ever meet.
Kyrian. Kyrian marries Amanda, who is an accountant. She passes the test and wins back Kyrian's soul. Amanda has a twin sister named Tabitha. In a later book, Tabitha ends up with Valerius, and considering how Kyrian hates Valerius, it makes for a very interesting story.
squires. Squires are a structured group of people who know all about the Dark Hunters and are assigned to a particular Dark Hunter. Not all Dark Hunters choose to have a squire and Some Dark Hunters are refused a Squire. Zarek was denied a squire. No squire would voluntarily work for him.
Talon. Talon ends up with Sunshine Runningwolf, who is an eccentric artist. We later learn that her grandmother was a Celtic Goddess and so Sunshine is an immortal. When Talon takes blood from Sunshine, he also becomes immortal. When a Dark Hunter gets his soul back, he usually becomes mortal, but Talon gets to spend eternity with the woman he loves.
Julian. Julian was a Greek of the same time period as Kyrian. They were best friends as humans. Julians mother is the Goddess Aphrodite. Julian was cursed into a book shortly befor Kyrian was murdered. Julian was summoned from the book by Grace in our time and Julian eventually is freed from his curse and he and Grace are married. Kyrian became a Dark Hunter when he was murdered and since his wife, Amanda, and Grace are close friends, Kyrian and Julian find each other again. Their friendship continues as though centuries had not passed since they had seen each other.
Night Play. Vane is one of my favorite Dark-Hunters- he prefers a woman with some "meat on her bones"!
Fantasy Lover. Sherrilyn considers "Night Pleasures" to be the true beginning of the series, but "Fantasy Lover" comes before it, introducing the characters of Julian and Kyrian.
Acheron. Ahh...the secretive Ash! Gotta love him even though he can be irritating with his secretiveness.
Artemis. Artemis, also known as the Heifer Goddess!
Astrid. Astrid is sister to the Three Fates, and is heroine to Zarek.
Sanctuary. The Were-Bear family is the Peletiers.
Archon. King Xerxes was the terrible king who was supposed to be Acheron's father, Savitar is Acheron's friend, and Estes was Xerxes' brother, who sold Acheron into a life of prostitution.
Ryssa. Ryssa didn't have a great future, either, being offered to Apollo as his mistress by her own father.
swirling silver. Acheron's eye color is what made the king and queen know he wasn't theirs, and hate him because of it. Styxx, Acheron's twin, had blue eyes.
he wanted her to kill him. Acheron tried to die so many times and but was forced to live because his life force was tied to Styxx.
21. He died a mortal death at 21. He was killed by Apollo when Styxx told him that Acheron did nothing to save Ryssa and the baby when they were killed.
Artemis had drugged him. Artemis drugged him when she found out that not only was Acheron a god, he was far more powerful than she was!
all of these (she killed all the other Atlantean gods, she swore to kill Artemis and Apollo, she sunk Atlantis). She isn't called Apollymi the Great Destroyer for nothing! She was unaware of how terrible Acheron's childhood was until right before he was killed. When she found out, she really blew a gasket.
Epithymia. Epithymia was Apollymi's sister, who was afraid of Acheron because of the prophecy made by the Fates that stated that Acheron would be the destruction of all. She made sure that everyone who ever laid eyes on him would desire him.
Dikastis. Dikastis was the only Atlantean god that didn't try to save himself from Apollymi's wrath. He, after all, was the god of justice.
by feeding him her blood. Acheron was perfectly content to be dead, but Artemis, afraid of Apollymi's rage, brought him back by tricking him into drinking her blood, thereby re-imprisoning Apollymi and tying Acheron to her forever.
Simi. Simi, the daughter of Apollymi's best friend Xiamara (which is actually Simi's name!). She is 3,000 years old at this time but as Charonte demons mature very slowly, this puts her development at about that of a human three year old.
to keep Atlantis hidden. She is dedicated to finding Atlantis and saving her father and uncle's reputations. Acheron doesn't enjoy hurting her but he will keep his secrets and his history hidden at all cost.
all of these (he couldn't hear her thoughts, she didn't want to sleep with him, she feared nothing). He could see how upset she was in Nashville after the news conference but he couldn't hear her thoughts.
Satara. Satara is Apollo's daughter, whom he gave to Artemis, his twin sister, as a handmaid.
"Savin Me" by Nickleback. Ash was filling in with the Howlers as Colt had hurt his hand, and when he saw Tory watching him from the audience, he wanted to do something special for her.
Sprite. He had never tried Sprite before. Amazingly, not only did he get drunk, so did Simi. They gave a Tory a virtual tour of Atlantis, and told her a lot of other secrets that Acheron didn't really want her to know. In the end, he trusted her enough to let her read Ryssa's journal and see what he had been in his youth.
