Benny Hill. Robert Helpman plays the evil child catcher all dressed in black. Would you climb in his truck for a "free ice cream"? That's what he offers the children to get them to come in to his wagon. Vulgaria is a place where the Baron and Baroness don't like children. All the children live in the water system.
float and fly. The car magically flies Mr. Potts, Truly, Jeremy and Jemima to Vulgaria.
Caractacus. The elder Mr. Potts is mistaken for his son and is kidnapped by the King of Vulgaria to create a car for him, just like Chitty!
Dick Van Dyke. The musical, acting and dancing talents of Dick Van Dyke are evident in this film! He can also be seen as a jolly chimney sweep in "Mary Poppins".
Ian Fleming. This 1968 MGM film is truly a classic! It's quite different from the
James Bond stories he did.

Yes. So...how much of Caractacus' story was a story and how much was real?
Daddy and Truly got married.. The children wanted Caractacus and Truly to get married.
They swam.. The two spies were dumped from the zeppelin when it needed to lose some weight in order to fly. They finally made it to Vulgaria in time to see the revolt.
24 hours. He put Grandpa in the dungeon with other inventors and told him he had 24 hours to build a floating car.
When Caractacus and gang were hiding out in the toymaker's shop, did they disguise themselves as stuffed animals? | Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

No. They were disguised as jack-in-the-boxes.
Grandpa. The two spies thought Grandpa was the inventor of Chitty and had him kidnapped.
Caractacus tells the children and Truly that the evil Baron Bomburst was sailing there to steal "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". From what country was Bomburst? | Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

Vulgaria. Gilder and Florin are both from "The Princess Bride" and, of course, Transylvania is from the story of Count Dracula. Bomburst is from Vulgaria, the land that hates children.
After days and days of work to create the wonderful car called "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", Caractacus takes his children and Truly to the beach. As he was telling them a story, the tide came in. What amazing thing did Chitty do? | Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

It released a raft to float upon.. Apparently the inventor didn't realize he had included a raft when he rebuilt Chitty! "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" flew away later in the movie.
Caractacus wanted to have the 30 shillings to buy his children's car before it went off to the junk heap. He went to the carnival with a special invention to make that money. What was his invention supposed to do? | Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

cut hair. His hair cutting contraption wasn't very good. The poor man who got his hair cut with it got more than he bargained for!
Edison. Edison, the Potts family dog, was a very nice sheepdog. He could also hold a whistle in his mouth and blow. Good for him!
Yes. The candy had holes in it, apparently the sugar was cooked at too high a temperature (according to Truly). Caractacus thought it was a waste until his dog caused it to whistle. Toot Sweets were born! Too bad the high pitch called to every dog in the neighborhood! Later he would sell them to Scrumptious as Woof Sweets for dogs. He had told Scrumptious' secretary that their name was Whistling Sweets.
At the beginning, Truly nearly runs down the Potts children when they run across the road. This unfortunately leads poor Truly to drive her car into the pond. What color is Truly's car, before it gets all muddy? | Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

yellow. Truly has a very nice yellow car. She had no trouble getting the car out of the pond in this instance, later in the movie she can't. The Ford Motor Company provided the vehicles used in this movie.
In his hut. Grandpa was constantly going on exciting adventures to India and Alaska, among others. Of course, all of these adventures took place in his hut, which was a part of the chicken coop. Who says adults can't pretend?
