Wonder. In the thousand years since the Crystal cracked, the Skeksis have destroyed the beauty of the land.
Gelfling. Jen, our hero, is the last of the Gelflings...or so he thinks.

'I am still Emperor.'. When the wisest Mystic dies, he simply fades into the {air;} when the Emperor dies, he crumbles into dust like a decaying corpse.
Kira's pet. Fizzgig is listed in the film credits as 'a friendly monster.'
Crystal Bats. Kira wounds a Crystal Bat flying overhead, but it has already seen her and Jen floating down the river toward the Podling village.

Essence. When a creature's Essence is removed, the creature becomes a mindless slave with no will or thoughts.

The Chamberlain calls the Garthim off. The Chamberlain rescues them in a vain hope that they will help him regain his former glory among the Skeksis. Jen and Kira don't trust him, but then, who would?
Gelflings. Jen and Kira's ancestors were all killed by the Skeksis so that the Prophecy would go unfulfilled.
Kira. The line before that was 'The prophecy didn't say anything about this!' (Jen, aboard a Landstrider)
Landstriders. The Landstriders were performed by a single person apiece on four stilts.
He's a boy. Kira saves herself and Jen from the Garthim by gliding down into the ravine on her wings.

All of these (Fozzie Bear, Yoda, Cookie Monster). Frank was also the voice of Miss Piggy, Animal, Grover, and Bert.
Jen. Jen is the main character in this movie. He has been chosen to save his world from the evil Skeksis. He has never been outside of his valley, and doesn't really want to leave, but because his master says he has to, he is going to do it.
10. We are told by the narrator at the beginning of the movie that there are 10 Mystics and 10 Skeksis. Slowly both races are dying and a new world is about to be formed.
Jim Henson. Jim Henson also performed the High Priest and directed the film. It was the first full length film Henson did where there were no human characters seen interacting with the muppets.
Kira. Jen actually sees Fizzgig first but they are not introduced officially until Kira helps Jen out of the mud by calling a Nebrie.
Wings. Jen finds out that Kira has wings when they jump off the cliff, after the battle between the Garthem and the Landstriders. Jen responds "I don't have wings" and Kira replies "Of course not you're a boy".
A crystal shard. Jen is looking for a crystal shard so he can heal the dark crystal. He doesn't know what he is supposed to do with the shard once he gets it, until Aughra explains that he needs to heal the crystal. But before Aughra can explain how to do this, her home is attacked by Garthem looking for Jen.
The Podlings. Kira was adopted by the Podlings after her mother was killed by the Skeksis. We find this out when she and Jen are dreamfasting. This is also how Jen learns Kira's name.

Essence. The Emperor wants her essence so he can become young again. The Chamberlain is the one who brings Kira to the Emperor and that is how he gains restoration among the Skeksis.
Fizzgig. Fizzgig is Kira's guard-pet. He was given to her by the Podlings.

What was sundered and undone, shall be whole, the two made one.. Aughra has just witnessed her second great conjunction. She is surprised that Jen has healed the Dark Crystal in time.

Gelfling. Gelflings are a race of elf-like creatures that were almost completely wiped out because of a prophecy by the evil Skeksis.
(A puppet is used for most of the scenes with Jen. They actually used real people when you see him running or climbing from a distance.)
| Jen's master, the wisest of the Mystics, lies dying. It is then that he tells Jen that he is in danger because he is part of the prophecy and must save their world. The dying master tells Jen to follow the greater sun for a day, to the home of whom (who has the shard)? | Dark Crystal

Aughra. Aughra is quite a unique character. She's been around a long time and knows many things. She can also take out her eye to have a better view of things!
| After obtaining the crystal shard, Jen is walking through a very interesting forest/swamp and has a startling encounter that sends him landing in the mud. What creature does Kira call to help him out? | Dark Crystal

Nebrey. Jen: "What is that?" (inquiring about the creature)
Kira: "Just a Nebrey. She won't hurt you."
In the next scene, we see the Skeksis dining on the creature.
"Roast Nebrey, my favourite." This shows the difference in compassion between the Gelflings and Skeksis.
